We had lunch here on the weekend. We were a little worried because the parking lot was pretty full, and a lot of people were seated outside. When we entered, there was a lot of inside seating available. The decor was an upscale pub vibe, dark wood, brass, and mirrors. There was a seating area in the corner with couches and chairs that looked like a living room set up. Everything had a lived-in feel but was clean and welcoming. The ceiling was covered in plates with various customer names, organizations, and artwork. After we seated ourselves, our server, Carol W, came over and greeted us. We needed more time since it was our first visit. She happily went to get us water and came back for our drink and food orders. We ordered the soft pretzel with beer cheese and queso, a lambic, and Duvel Belgian blonde. I ordered a Sputnik Monroe burger with sweet potato fries, and my husband had the Whiskey burger. The drinks were good. I love lambic, but I've never had it on tap before. The soft pretzels were delicious! Warm, soft, and salted just right. The queso was thinner than I expected but had good flavor to it, I could taste the jalapeños. The beer cheese was definitely the winner, though! It had a creamy whipped texture and was delectable. My husband was in heaven with his beer and pretzel. The burgers were amazing too, maybe a touch more towards well than medium done. They were still juicy and very tasty. I liked the balance between the bun and patty size (the patty was slightly larger). The amounts of sauce and toppings were generous but not over the top, where they make the burger impossible to eat. Carol kindly brought me a pickle spear after I asked if they had any. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. We really enjoyed our lunch. Carol was super patient and attentive without hovering. Great service and yummy food. Thanks so much!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Flying Saucer Draught Emporium on Germantown Parkway in Memphis, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish! The vibe here is fantastic—lively yet relaxed, with a cool, modern pub atmosphere that makes it the perfect spot to unwind with friends or enjoy a casual night out. The open indoor space paired with the dog-friendly outdoor patio (complete with big fans and heaters to keep things seasonably comfortable) creates a welcoming environment that’s hard to beat. The food is always excellent! The menu offers an impressively wide selection, catering to all kinds of tastes. I went for the fried chicken Sandwich, and it was a flavor explosion—perfectly crispy chicken with just the right kick of spice, balanced by a subtle sweetness. My friends raved about the burgers and the soft pretzels, which were fresh, warm, and paired with tasty dips. Whether you’re in the mood for something hearty like a pizza or a lighter option like a salad, there’s something for everyone, and it’s all prepared with care. The service truly stood out as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to offer recommendations—especially when it came to navigating their incredible beer list (which, by the way, is a beer lover’s dream). Our server made sure we felt taken care of without ever being overbearing, striking that perfect balance that elevates the whole experience. We felt tended to but not invaded. Flying Saucer on Germantown Parkway is a gem—great vibe, delicious and diverse food, and top-notch service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit! The only reason atmosphere received four stars is that the music is about 15% too loud for my taste but still a stellar experience.

If you haven't been, you should go. It's a small chain in the eastern US that is all about trying different beers. Occasionally I've had my run of poor service here, but this has noticeably improved over the past 3 years. Call me rude or a tightwad, but I don't tip if the service is bad. But over the last 10 or so trips I recall I've been tipping. The food is good, though I miss the Nutella crepes. Beer cheese soup is always really good, as are most of the sandwiches. I don't think the hummus and pita is as good as it used to be. The salads are also really good. I've had pretty much everything on the menu. This location has darts and a very nice chessboard. This location is more of a classic restaurant than Nashville or downtown Memphis or St. Louis locations. The management inproved too I think. It has nice outdoor seating under a large awning. If you're unfamiliar with FSes, they also have trivia nights, $1 glass night, and plates on the ceiling and the place is very pub-esque. The music is a mix of 90s and 00s alternative and rock and punk usually, very good. I wish they would include 3rd parties in their Presidential stint this year.

On Wednesday evening, June 28, 2023, I placed an over-the-phone order. I picked up my order, but discovered it wasn’t correct when I got home. I called the restaurant, and spoke with the waitress. She said I could bring it back and they would remake it. The problem with that was (1) I stay about 25mins away from the restaurant and (2) it was already late (like 8PM). So inquired about a credit and asked to speak to the manger on duty. After explaining the same thing to the manger on duty, he didn’t want to give me credit, but just kept insisting that I bring the food back. Well first, I wasn’t going to make another 50min trip at that time of night to have food remade, nor going to return the item the next day or because it was out of the way for me. This was why I just asked for a credit, instead of keeping food until I had a chance to travel back over there. Eight days later, July 6th, I was able to bring the food back. I talked with Brian. He seemed to have understood my complaint and issued my request for a refund (Thank You, Brian).

I understand if the issue was the legitimacy my call/complaint as the customer. But generally, people aren’t gonna pick up an order, get home and then call to inform the restaurant that the order was wrong, while. asking for a credit. I felt that keeping the food until I was able to come back was ridiculous because money was being lost anyways since it had to be remade. As a manager, it wasn’t the best decision.

I still love the quality of the food at Flying Saucer, but may change locations since there are 2...
