Have to say I'm completely disappointed. Not only were the cupcakes I ordered for a baby shower barely cool (in summer heat), with melty droopy icing, it looks like they tossed some old Valentine's Day decorations on top when I asked for pink sprinkles (appropos to a baby shower.) And the flavor was marginal, certainly nothing to be excited about.
Instead of feeling like a hero for splurging on special cupcakes from what I was told was one of the best bake shops in town, I'm embarrassed to be bringing what looks like broke down homemade Valentine's Day leftovers. For fifty dollars! And they didn't even feel refrigerated, which might explain why all the paper cupcake wrappers were soaked through. Pros...I have to give credit for amazing décor on cakes in the case, and maybe the other items, cookies et cetera are terrific? The people were certainly nice and it's a lovely and clean looking establishment. But their cupcakes are apparently filled not just with jam, but also disappointment. (Not very good either) Next time Nothing Bundt Cakes or Target. At least their sprinkles are season-appropriate. Not trying to Karen out here, but if you don't have what the customer asks for, say so. Don't just toss something on it for the sake of it. Anyway I'm sure they're again super hard working awesome people but so am I and this totally ruins what I wanted to be a special contribution to the shower. Going to try and scrape...
Read moreThere was always a tiny piece of something missing from my life. It was Frost. I'd heard about them a bajillion times over but thought "whatev. Just another bake shop.". I have never been so wrong in my entire life. Frost is not just "another" bake shop. It is my favorite bake shop for CAKE in Memphis. They do have other items that I'm sure are fantastic but the piece of me that sometimes is in need of a cupcake has already been permanently taken. My mom, my oldest daughter and myself are self proclaimed red velvet cake connoisseurs. For my daughter's sweet 16 I got a red velvet cake from frost. We were literally at a loss for words from the first bite. We hadn't finished the first cake before we were thinking of the next time we could get another. The. Best. Red. Velvet. Cake. I. Have. Ever. Had. I recently was at a gathering and handed a piece of cheesecake - I'm also a connoisseur of cheesecake - and was floored. I went on a mission to find the magical creature made the cheesecake. Eventually I discovered, it was from Frost. Of course it was! If you are satisfied living a life with mediocre special occasion desserts then def don't go to Frost. You are not worthy. For the rest of you, Frost if your new mini-me - let them...
Read moreOrdered cupcakes on April 9th for April 10th pick up, for my moms birthday and the Happy Birthday banner I purchased was left off the order. I ordered cupcakes a week later on April 16th for another birthday, went to pick up the order and the birthday banner was almost left of the order again. I ordered 6 different kinds of cupcakes, and instead of receiving carrot cake I received banana but, well my brother bit into the cupcakes and he is allergic to walnuts. I tried calling the East Memphis location and no one EVER answers or calls you back after you leave messages. I had to call Collierville location and explain the situation. Finally someone calls and unfortunately I missed the call I try to call them back not even five minutes later and of course no one answers the phone. I leave a few messages and even called back again today Monday April 19th & left a message and no one one has picked up or return my call. I don't understand why Collierville always answers the phone but not East Memphis. I have always loved Frost however this is making me a very unsatisfied customer and not wanting to come back. I have yet to get anything corrected. I spent good money and it has...
