We have been here on several occasions and the haircuts are fine. However I have had problems regarding making appointments. I initially did a walk in and was seen right away (waited less than 15 minutes). I asked about making appointments and was told I could do so. My next visit I did make an appointment and ended up waiting for over an hour past my appt time. My daughter likes this place and I am aware that things happen. So we did return
Yesterday, Sunday, I made an appointment for 2:30pm. I arrived 10 minutes early. There were two stylists working. The one I had booked was finishing up and there was another family waiting. About 2:45 my stylist finished and I anticipated we would be next. However, the waiting family was taken back. I asked about this and I was told that “this happens sometimes.” I make an appointment so that I can be seen at the time I schedule. I noticed a sign in the lobby saying that if you are more than 7 minutes late you’d have to reschedule. My time is important too. I had booked that time because I had other obligations later that day. I chose to leave and let them know that I was unhappy. I did receive a phone call from the salon later apologizing and saying that they had had a number of fussy children that day and it had put them behind. Again, I understand this type of thing happens, but after experiencing this twice, I will no longer be frequenting...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place. We tried 4 different times and now we are done. Staff is just not friendly. It's always odd to me to have a place that is supposed to be all about kids and then ends up being cold and unfriendly. Amanda does a great job cutting hair, but is not very nice. My son is autistic and has receptive speech delay so it takes him some time to process communication. She was barking orders at him and I could tell he was confused and scared. I saw him shut down which broke my heart. He started saying the same thing over and over again, which is what he does when he is stressed. The entire reason we took our son here is because we knew the cars would be such a good distraction from this scary new sensory overload thing (hair cut) and we thought the staff would be extra patient and kind since they are working with children. The idea of this place is awesome. Just wish the vibe was better and there was more patience, kindness, fun, and joy. Recommendation for staff: When scheduling a hair cut, it would be such a good idea to have a box that a parent can check that would inform the stylist this kid is autistic or special needs.
Kindness and joy go a...
Read moreAmanda did a beautiful job and made my son’s first haircut a big boy achievement. She followed my wishes for his haircut, although I wish the hair at the nape of his neck was just a tad longer. No worries, because it will grow back. He looks like a handsome young boy. Edit: However, upon further consideration after several other visits, the haircuts only got worse and worse. My son is now three years old. His last haircut was more than two months ago and we are still waiting on hair to grow back from where Amanda very obviously messed up his neck line. I didn’t see it that night until after I washed his hair and there was a huge chunk of missing hair. My son is not a crier unless he is sick or tired. He has always been this way. He had always enjoyed haircuts until this one particular instance. Unfortunately. We will not be going back and even though my son will be going to school soon, I will have to find a different barber that can neaten up the rest of his hair while we wait for the chunk of hair that Amanda cut out more than nine months ago to...
