Update:
I feel like the business is unfairly blaming me. I placed the order not in the week they mentioned, but the week before that. I made two separate calls on different days; the first was to reschedule the pickup for Thursday, and the second was to inquire if I could pick it up earlier on Friday, which the staff confirmed was okay.
However, on Friday, the assistant manager contacted me, upset that I hadn't picked it up on Thursday as initially planned. I told her that I had received permission from the staff to collect it on Friday instead. She argued that the staff member had made a mistake by allowing this change.
I didn't call back on Friday, but the assistant manager reached out to me again, expressing frustration that the order hadn't been picked up yet and insisting I do so immediately. She basically threatened to discard the cake and complained about the lack of space in the refrigeration due to my order. The birthday party was on March 1st. I had no reason to move it.
Dear Management,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from the assistant manager at your store on March 1st, concerning an $85 cake order. My experience was not only disappointing but also left me feeling disrespected as a customer.
On February 27th and 29th, I called your store to inquire about picking up a cake on Friday, which was valued at $85. The staff member I spoke with confirmed that this would be possible, and based on this assurance, I made my plans accordingly. However, to my surprise, I received a call from the assistant manager around noon on March 1st, informing me that the staff had erred in allowing me to pick up the cake on Friday. She insisted that I needed to pick it up within an hour.
I explained that I was unable to come at such short notice but assured her that I would pick up the cake before the store closed, as initially promised. Instead of understanding the situation or apologizing for the inconvenience caused by her staff's miscommunication, the assistant manager proceeded to express concern that I would not pay for the $85 order. Her tone was not only unwarranted but also extremely rude throughout our conversation.
The behavior of the assistant manager was unprofessional and not reflective of the customer service standards I have come to expect from you. A situation that could have been resolved with understanding and proper communication was instead handled in a manner that was both unwelcoming and offensive.
I hope that this incident will be taken seriously and addressed appropriately. It is crucial for all staff, especially those in managerial positions, to represent with professionalism and courtesy towards customers. This experience has unfortunately impacted my view of your store, and I am hesitant to return or recommend your services to others without knowing that measures have been taken to improve customer service and staff training.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and a resolution...
Read moreMy husband just picked up a cake from here. I was quoted a price $48 on the phone when the cake was ordered four days ago. When my husband went to pick up the cake, the price had gone up to $59. There was no mistake on my end as the original price was comparable with cakes of that size that I have ordered from other bakeries. And if the price had increased recently, as they claimed, La Baguette should have acknowledged that it's possible that the staff member made a mistake with the quote and should have offered some recompense. Lesson to me, always get a written quote. La Baguette, that was terrible customer service. I hope you do better with other customers because you've lost this one.
Edited to Add: The cake, unfortunately, was also terrible. It was served about three hours from pickup and was refrigerated until it was served. Liquid was leaking from the cake when we removed it from the refrigerator and took it out of the box to serve. (See attached pictures). The cake itself tasted...off. Like something that had been left in the freezer for too long. The frosting was oily in taste. Not one of the children or adults who had a piece of cake finished it. Very disappointing experience from start to finish.
TLDR: Customer service lacking, cake was terrible. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Try Muddy's or Frost, both of whom make excellent cakes and offer excellent...
Read moreStoped in for the first time in almost 10+ years. Was meeting a friend for coffee and a little bite to eat. While waiting in line I seen a day old section. Picked up a bag of 4 mini croissant's and asked the girl behind the counter how much they were. She said $8. I said wow. She said they're regularly $15 and with an attitude she said " i don't make the prices" I said I didn't say you did. So my friend and I walked out and spent our hard earned money down the street at French Truck Coffee. I am in the restaurant business 31 years. Really $8 for 4 mini croissant on your day old section. This place is been there a long time but come on $15 for 4 mini croissant's. Maybe it's me but I don't mind paying for something that is reasonable price, Then get an attitude from the under 25 girl behind the counter. You don't need my money since you have others who are willing to pay $15 for 4 mini croissants. just for reference Kroger 4 full size croissants $5. Walmart 6 mini for $4.98. Sams club 12 full size for $6.98. Do better La Baguette but i guess you don't have to when you have people paying those prices. At least train your people to not have an attitude. BTW to the new owners put some pricing on the items out front or a menu...
