Louis Connelly's Bar for Fun Times & Friendship — Restaurant in Memphis

Shot size seemed a little small, and I wish the bartender told me they didn't have Amaro Nonino Quintessentia when I ordered a paper plane, though they went ahead with Averna... unfortunately it's not really a cocktail you can sub the amaro...It didn't cross my mind to look very carefully when I saw their great selection(Fernet B, Green and Yellow Char, Averna, Aperol, etc), so some user error on my part as well but a nice notification would've helped inform my decision. I'm not 100pct sure it was shaken, either... Friendly staff though, didn't want to say no to my request. Didn't order any food, but everything smelled great.

11/24 edit: got a last word...unshaken. It was kinda weird, but okay... Um. Tbh I was going to just be fine w it but I was kept asked "are you sure you don't want it shaken?" Multiple times after I said "nah" once. It's pretty annoying being asked again and again. As a bartender myself I do understand the desire to get it right, and it sounds weird, but it's almost more annoying to be asked multiple times "are you sure?!"... Like tbh if the bartender saw it, realized she made a mistake before I said anything, and executively decided to remake it bc she made a mistake I would've been like /shrug alright cool. But relying on me and after I made my decision....question my decision... was kinda annoying, far more than the drink not actually being shaken. Granted, she didn't know I've never had a last word unshaken, but nobody ever knows that... nobody has the last word unshaken. Idk man. I forgot I rated this 4 star. I thought I rated it 5. But this experience reconfirmed a 4. I never had a last word not shaken. It was stirred this time. It was interesting, and a learning experience. But the "are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?" Past my first "yes" was the sticking point. If you think you didn't make it right before I got it, please make it again. If you deliver it, and say, "when I made it the first time I saw it wasn't right" I won't be bothered if you remake it, 5 star. But if I'm asked 2 or 3 times if I'm sure I don't want it remade...that's kind of exhausting. (The 1st time I asked, I really do appreciate it, genuinely, sincerely, 100%, but I find it's exhausting past that...like I have no reason to lie, and I don't know why someone would ask me a 2nd or 3rd or 4th time if I'm sure... Let me start this by saying I’m very introverted and rarely get out, but some friends visiting from out of town wanted to walk around and get some drinks in midtown- it was getting late everyone was a little buzzed and I decided to go on the hunt for some fries and ranch- every kitchen on the square was closed at this point much to my disappointment and guy standing on the street must have overheard me expressing my disappointment to my friends and he said “Hey why don’t y’all go to louis Connellys its not that far they have fries” we thanked him and immediately went to go find this place. Let me tell you- I had a night I wont ever forget the atmosphere was chill, fun, and diverse. The drinks were cold well priced and tasted great. (I personally had green tea shots) The fries OMG THE FRIES! Incredible. And the chicken tendies 10/10 rating. I’m thankful to this place and the staff, specifically Sam. Thank you Sam I dont get out too much and you really helped create an amazing evening for myself my fiancé and my friends. You have a great personality and were so welcoming. Soft opening.... Food was great. had the philly cheese fries.... Beer was cold and fresh... 15 taps currently (12 local as it should be) with 5 more available...... All the well and call liquor you need ... Didn't ask for premium. *They had the neverending story playing on a 7 inch TV/VCR combo behind the bar....... I felt seen for the first time in my life.... like no other bar ever had... Multiple large TV's also had the grizzly game on. Along with a couple for the NFL playoffs.
