Had this place on my list since opening but have always been unlucky, found it closed the 2 times we tried to go. But our dinner last week was definitely worth it. Such a special, homey yet magical place. Few outdoor tables, also bar seating and few indoor tables and cute unique rooms inside. Owned by a couple who run the bar and restaurant themselves. Cocktail experts who can give you great recommendations, well priced $10. Favorite was the lychee and gin cocktail, “I’ll have what she’s having”… there’s another cocktail I can’t remember, was topped with smoked rosemary. Burgers were huge, fresh brioche bun. I liked the Tiger but didn’t like the big block of blue cheese so much. Would probably prefer a milder and softer cheese. Lions Mane poppers were really good too. There was a big party inside so we opted for outdoor seating, which we enjoyed. But still would like to try the indoor experience next time. Lovely service, def feels like a second home.

Excellent atmosphere, and distinctly Memphis. It's essentially a early 1920's bungalow-style Cooper-Young residence that has been rezoned as commercial and is being used as a bar/restaurant. All of the comfort of being at home, with a wider cocktail selection than the vast majority of households. Maria was a great mixologist. I tried the Bourbon Old Fashioned - a very Southern, yet spirit-forward, rendition of the classic. I also tried Absinthe Makes The Heart Grow Fonder - which not only further solidified my love for absinthe, but became my go-to cocktail at this establishment. 5/5 - will be returning frequently. Definitely a go-to place for positive and unique atmosphere.

I had the best time here!! We came because the menu looked great and the inside was pretty. Firstly, the bartenders were the kindest people(even though everybody is kind in Memphis, they topped it). Secondly, the food, phenomenal. HIGHLY recommend the crawfish dip. I was stuffed by the end of the dip and jambalaya, but still needed to take another couple bites of the dip because WOW! Also, the drinks were wonderful. The second drink we got, a little strong, but who doesn’t love strong drinks? My boyfriend comes here for a tournament and we will be back next year. 100% stopping at this place again. & not to mention, the vibe is so chill and unique. 10/10 on everything!

You know a place is fantastic when the clientele outside are friendly and welcoming.

After being evacuated from the Beale Street Music Festival at the Fairgrounds last night, we were having a hard time finding shelter from the storms and getting back to our airbnb. While walking around, we happened upon this bar. We asked the people outside if they were open and they got up, opened the door and welcomed us in.

The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming as well. Offering us shelter to try and arrange for a ride home in one of their cozy rooms. We were recommended to try one of their newest drinks: The Ukraine. With a fantastic blueberry shrub base and Ukraine vodka, the flavors were tantalizing. It was a pleasant surprise after our disappointing, stormy walk.

Alden took great care in serving us. Incredibly friendly and accommodating. They truly knew how to "lighten" the mood (pun intended) and we had a great time laughing and interacting with everyone we met there. Their hospitality exceeded all expectations.

This place is a true treasure. We plan on being back today before we had back out of town. And we will definitely regularly return whenever we are in the area. The gratitude we have for such a lovely end to our day, the gracious welcome to some soggy strangers, and the delicious drinks that really proved a mastery to their craft.

Thank you Memphis Whistle for making an entertaining and memorable ending to our night last night. As for you, dear reader of reviews, it would behoove you to visit them as well and experience for yourself a cozy place that makes you...

I’ve been to this restaurant twice and loved the crawfish dip & tots both times! The drinks are made well and the service was phenomenal until the end of my second visit. It’s no secret the place has a fruit fly issue and my second visit was no exception. A gnat landed in the my drink after I drunk over half of it. I didn’t want a new one but wanted to give the gnat-filled drink to my waitress. She took the drink and asked if I wanted them to make another one. I understood that as they would remake the entire drink since a gnat ruined the remainder of my first one. For context, I just told her I did not want another drink a few minutes prior. It seemed pretty generous for her offer for another drink to be made as a replacement. Little did I know, she charged me full price for the replacement drink (my first was during happy hour). When I noticed this on my receipt, I asked if I was charged for the drink because it wasn’t clear if they “remade” my original drink or simply gave me a new drink after happy hour ended. Her reaction was incredibly rude and she replied, “Yes, absolutely! You drank over half your drink” with a fake smile and passive aggressive tone. Prior to this, she was polite to my other friend but rude to me. I paid for my ticket, including the full-price drink, and even left a $5 tip because the bartenders and cooks deserved it. Her attitude and lack of consistent customer service ruined the experience for me. The manager, Jef, was nice and offered me a free drink the next time I visited since I already paid; however, I’m reluctant to return due to her...
