We stumbled across Celtic Crossing after a good night of bar hopping in Memphis, and it was a nice play to have a calm end of the night. We first started off with a round of drinks. I had a cocktail that had cucumber in it and... it was not that great. Granted, it may just be the fact that I just don't like that particular drink, so no big deal! The others enjoyed their drinks regardless. We started off food with an order of the Irish Poutine. It was really good! Probably the best dish of the night. I loved how much cheese was on it. I got the Fish & Chips and my boyfriend got the Celtic Corned Beef Sandwich. I'm not a particular fan of Corned Beef, but this sandwich changed my mind! It was incredibly savory. The Fish in the Fish & Chips was slightly bland, but the tartar sauce made up for it. The fries were also great! Make sure you order them seasoned, it makes them 10x better. Overall, great joint!

Are you looking for a cool, bar like place to hang out with good food? Then look no further, this Celtic crossing Irish pub is the place where you must hit this weekend. It has a few tv screens and gives a sport bar like feeling, with crowds cheering for the favorite teams. If you don’t like the inside vibe and games, there are tables in the patio, which might be a bit more cozy. Now, this is the place for Guinness or other Irish drinks. I tried a citrus refreshing one with Champaign and that was good too. We tried the scotched eggs to begin with. Those were great. The main entree we ordered the shepherd’s pie and another wholesome comfy food with mashed potato and sausages. The portion size was good, and the food was good too. Highly recommended.

Brunch review: big omelette, the cheese in the Irish omelette is great, the potatoes they have with breakfast are also good. The best part was the boiled eggs wrapped in sausage and bread crumbs and fried. Good stuff. The soda bread slice was tiny, and don't order the French toast, skinny bread and very basic. Our waiter wasn't very attentive, and there was a big crowd of regulars watching a couple soccer games, so understand it'll be noisy and folks will be seriously drinking early if soccer is on. No complaints, just for your info.

So…the owner (D.J. Naylor) of Celtic Crossing on Cooper St. threw me and my friends out of his restaurant a little while ago simply because I FOUND HAIR IN MY SALAD and he refused to make a new one. I brought this to our server’s attention (who by the way was very incompetent) and she snatched it out of my hand and returned to the kitchen. She then brought another plate out and said that they had re-plated it aka they put the SAME SALAD ON A DIFFERENT PLATE. By this time I’m completely done.

After seeing that the salad was NOT remade, I handed it back to the server and asked for her to just take it off my check. I had lost my appetite and was content to sit and fellowship with my friends until they finished eating. A couple minutes later, the owner rushes to our table and in an accusatory voice says, “We had this same problem with y’all about 7 months ago. I’ve been here since Friday and we haven’t had a plate come back yet!” We were confused at first because we didn’t understand what the problem was, who he was, and was trying to figure out who “ya’ll” was. He was so rude and insulting, that it took a minute for it to register that this was actually happening.

While we tried to explain the situation, he over talked us and then yelled at us and told us to “GET THE HELL OUT!” at no fault of ours in front of everyone! Mind you, we were THE ONLY TABLE OF BLACK PEOPLE AT THE RESTAURANT. He told us that they would cover the check and continually YELLED AND CURSED at us to leave. He then came out after we had walked away “apologizing” to the other (white) patrons for throwing us out. This is a restaurant that we eat at frequently and normally order the same thing with no problems, so we were regulars.

I am LIVID about this experience and embarrassed that this happened to my friends and I. I’ve been a server. I know what goes on in the kitchen of restaurants. (My stories would shock you!) So I’m understanding and offer grace when I do go to restaurants.

But none of that mattered. Our professional attire meant nothing. Our nice cars that we drove there meant nothing. Our accolades or accomplishments meant nothing. Nor the amount of degrees attained between us. All this racist owner saw was the color of our skin and pegged us as a bunch of black women looking for a free meal. We didn’t fit the demographic of his restaurant so he wanted us gone. My only regret is that I did not get a picture nor video footage of this incident, but it escalated so quickly and I was in complete shock.

I almost never post statuses on here, but I had to share this because I'm tired of instances like this. I will NEVER step foot in Celtic Crossing again and encourage others not to dine there as well. We have to STOP PATRONIZING BUSINESSES that treat customers this way. Black or white, what this owner did was wrong, humiliating,...

Dear ownership, please don’t see this as an attack on your establishment, it’s a critique in which hopefully you will review and take action to improve.

I arrived for dinner 7 PM Friday and was greeted nicely by the hostesses. We were seated immediately and all seemed well.

Our waitress seemed a little scattered and not well trained. We placed a cocktail order and upon returning, the wrong cocktail was presented. It took 10 minutes to get waitresses attention to come back and correct the problem. A waitress should understand the difference between a plain vodka martini versus an extra dirty one, or maybe she just didn’t care.

We ordered a goat cheese appetizer, corn beef sandwich, and chicken Caesar salad for dinner. The order took 20 to 25 minutes to be served, however the appetizer and main course were served together. The person who delivered our dinner said “here you go! appetizer and dinner! It seems like he didn’t really care what he was doing. Who delivers an appetizer and main course together? He seemed nonchalant about it.

The corn beef tasted like it was a week old, Stringy with hard dry edges. The goat cheese did not taste like goat cheese, it was yellow and uneatable. The crispy chicken Caesar salad was nothing more than a frozen breaded chicken fillet that was deep-fried, cubed and thrown over Romain lettuce.

we were seated outside, and I went inside the restaurant to the men’s room. It was an absolute smelly pigsty in there. On the way to the bathroom I took a peek inside the kitchen and if I would’ve seen that before we ate, I would’ve left, especially with the cast of characters you had carrying on inside there. I couldn’t believe they were handling our food.

Your establishment is on prime real estate, I’m not sure how profitable you are, however if it was my place I would make some drastic changes as soon...

This was our first time eating at Celtic Crossing Irish Pub. We were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was very good. We had the Scottish eggs as an appetizer. For our entrees, I ordered the Sheppard's Pie, and my husband ordered the Celtic Corned Beef Sandwich. I also ordered a side of their veggie of the day, which was roasted & seasoned brussel sprouts. We ordered 2 Hot Scotties after dinner (these were cocktails that were supposed to consist of Scotch, hot water, honey, lemon, and cloves). They weren't bad, but it wasn't until later when we were driving home that I realized that they'd left out the cloves - and there was an Irish Breakfast teabag in them, which was not how it was desribed on the menu. 🤔 They were having a music bingo night, which I'm sure if you were in the right frame of mind, could be fun. But the music was very loud, so it was hard to hold a conversation. I would have given 3 stars, but I want to give it a second shot at a later date, so I gave 4, because I feel I need to try coming back in the summertime, or a time of year where the front section is opened up and the weather is nice (it was plasticed off to provide protection from the cold). They had a large heater in there, so I'm sure that provided some warmth. In hindsight, we should have chosen to sit out there when the host asked us. But we'd never been there before, so how would know. We'll give this place another try when the weather gets nicer. It's 18° out right now though 🥶, and we're expecting some snow, so that won't be...
