All donut shops are the same. If you've seen 1 donut place you've seen them all. Well... not necessarily. Little things can make one place stand out from the crowd and that's what Midtown Donuts has going for it. This place is clean (rare these days), well lit (you can actually see the product), has indoor and outdoor seating (even a couple tables set up with toys for children), but most of all, it just feels comfortable and welcoming. The greetings and friendliness when you walk in the door and the smiles on everyone's faces are a wonderful way to start the day. Did I mention the donuts? Not a huge selection but a decent selection that caters to almost anyone's taste. One thing that stands out are the 2 distinct sizes. You see normal sized donuts and then you notice the ones that are almost the size of a Volkswagen hubcap. I may exaggerate a little bit, but they really are huge. Regular glazed twist not enough? Check out the Tiger Tail. They also have a nice selection of breakfast croissants, but the croissants themselves are almost a meal. Coffee, milk, and soft drinks of course, but their selection of other drinks is varied and extensive. Give them a try, they're not hard to find. Look for the beautiful neon signs and trim across from Kroger. Tell them that the duck...
Read moreTried them out about 3 times when I moved to the city a few months ago. 2 of the 3 times their donut holes had absolutely no sweetness. Tasted like I was eating some plain no sugar bread. I tried to let them know about my experience and wanted to give them one more chance to do business with them but some asian guy seem to have got super upset by me asking to try a donut hole before I buy. He asserted no it will taste same. I said ok thank you this will be my last time coming here. Good thing someone helped me find Gibsons Donut!!! Gibsons donuts are 10x better and you can tell they doing better business at Gibsons because all their employee seem to be genuinely happy they are at work unlike midtown donut. I'll never go back to midtown donut and don't recommend anyone I know to go there. If you looking for good donuts in Memphis go to Gibsons. The vibe is better and most of all the donuts are...
Read moreThe employees were super nice and fast. The doughnuts were great! I love Krispy Kreme but my job starts at 6am and Krispy Kreme isn't open that early. My coworkers and I occasionally bring doughnuts to work for a group of us, and I recently decided it was my turn, so I looked up who was open early. One coworker likes to bring Howard's, but they weren't anything special, and I knew there was better out there. I read reviews and decided to try midtown, and I'm glad I did. I got an assorted dozen for work, and had one myself. They are fluffy but just crisp enough to be what you want. I had a apple fritter aswell and I'll admit it's the best I've ever had! It was crisp and gooey at the same time, and you could taste so much flavor throughout the...
