Ms. B's Sub Shop — Restaurant in Memphis

I have come here a few times, about four times. I was excited to support since this is a black-business, but its a HARD PASS, after my experience going there. First off, the lady at the front, who I believe is the daughter was low-key debating me down about why I wanted what I wanted on MY sandwich, that I was going to pay for with MY money. I wanted chicken salad on my turkey sandwich and she questioned me as to my would I put a process meat with chicken salad, when I can guarantee you the chicken itself is also PROCESSED, that was strike one. Strike two is the mother, or older lady that works in the back seems to have an attitude, or always be in a bad mood, because every time my sub would be ready she would slam or lightly toss it on the counter, instead of passing it to me like a normal person would. I also was excited to bring my co-worker along with me to check the spot out and was going to refer many of my colleagues and family to go there, but after my colleague and I was there several times and sensed the weird energy, It's a NO for me. The sandwiches were decent, but not all that to where I get questions for HOW I want my sandwich made. Also today, I had just left with a bad taste in my mouth, once again, about this business, the old lady in the back, I guess said my order was ready, but neither me or my colleague heard her , so clearly she wasn't loud enough, I turned my head and say her shaking my bag and looking annoyed about me not hearing her. The sandwich was also significantly smaller that before, ESPECIALY, when we had to pay almost $10 for a 6-inch, when I could've gotten a $5 footlong, I don't mind paying for the sub, but I am not going anywhere I am not wanted. I can go to subway and pay less to get what I want and not deal with any pushback, or attitude when spending my money. All in all, no one has time to deal with unwarranted hostility, and overall poor customer service when it comes to spending your hard-earned money at a business. Firstly, I have yet to see or take a picture of the food from Ms. B's that does the quality of the food justice. I am absolutely shocked, this was the best sandwich I've had in Memphis. Sure, there are novelties, there are specialties for when you're in a very specific mood but overall, this is the best. Everything was incredibly fresh and the portion size was very generous, meat was falling out of the sandwich. This was a pre-covid sandwich if I'm able to be full from a good quality sandwich for ten dollars.

I chose the turkey footlong. There were multiple toppings, I believe two different kinds of olives and jalapeños along with others. If you are dissuaded by any of those, please don't be. Everything was in perfect proportion to complement one another and not be overpowering. Ms. B's is now my go-to sandwich shop. To be honest, I didn't visit inside the store but I saw the pictures and just have to assume the atmosphere is every bit as great as everything else about this place. I went on Tuesday 8/17/21 around 1pm.  No line, no wait. Easy to order. I ordered the three meat (pastrami, turkey, and roast beef) footlong on wheat with pepper jack, everything no olives extra sauce.  The women were professional.  As I was waiting on my food, four customers walked in.  My food was ready in maybe 5 minutes. It didn't take long.  Great experience until I got home and looked at my sandwich.  There was a small container that looked like oil and the outside of the wrapper had a significant amount of oil on it.  The lettuce, tomatoes, and onions didn't appear fresh. The lettuce and onions were changed in color, limp and flimsy, not crisp. The tomatoes had the green ring in the center.  The meat was plentiful and had a decent taste.
