We’ve been wanting to try this place since they opened under prior ownership but never made it, then they closed. Now, they have new owners and have reopened. I had heard that under the old ownership, the food was pretty good but the service was horrible. People were waiting 30+ minutes for their food. Anyway new ownership now and we went in hoping for the best. It was not busy, we got there around 1:30pm. I think there was maybe 2 people in front of us. We got to the register and my wife and ordered our food. The lady working the register seems a little flustered and she admitted that she did not normally work at the register, she usually was in back making the food. She took our order and said it would be maybe 10 minutes and our food would ready. While waiting quite a few people showed up to pickup Togo orders. One of the guys that was there before us, asked if someone could pls check on his order because he placed it at 1pm and it was now almost 1:45pm. The lady at the register came out with a tray of food and apologized that it took so long. The guy looked at the tray and said he did not order any onion rings and that was not his order. We had been waiting for about 15 minutes and we had ordered onion rings so I raised my hand and said that order might be ours. It was. The guy who had been waiting 45 mins said that he wanted his money back. An Asian lady came out of the back and the lady at the register told her that the man wanted his money back but she said that his food was already out and ready. He asked her where it was because he had been waiting over 45 mins and still had no food. The Asian lady said his food was sitting behind the counter and had been ready for awhile. The man complained that no one told him that and he still wanted his money back because now the food was cold. The Asian lady argued it was not and gave him his food. While we were there there were several orders that were coming out of the back with either incorrect names on them or no names on them causing quite a bit of tension between the lady up front and those back in the kitchen. Again we waited maybe 15-20 minutes for our food but several waited much longer than that. Our food was great and the burgers were some of the best we had. But for whatever reason they are STILL having the same service issues as the old owners. The lady at the register although very flustered was pleasant and polite. The Asian lady in the back was pretty rude to others. We never interacted with her directly ourselves. I hope the new ownership can get things in order quickly otherwise this restaurant will close again. Multiple people said they would not be back due to the long wait and feeling that no one knew what they were doing. It’s sad because they do have good food but for now the service STILL suck! Until they figure it out I would not recommend. Maybe we will give them another chance in a few weeks if they make it...
Read moreWe visited this location yesterday. First impressions were not impressive. The woman cashier who took our order was not a good first face for the brand. This was our first time there and she answered our questions in an uninterested and incomprehensible way. She spoke too fast, mumbled and was curt.
I ordered the build your own with double patty, Swiss, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and Wayback sauce (bbq & mustard mixed). No bun as I brought my gluten free bread. I had asked for the sauce on the side but it came on the burger. My fiancé ordered the Bacon Burger. We both thought our burgers were very good. Juicy and tasty. The grilled onions and the wayback sauce made my burger. My fiancé enjoyed his though the bun fell apart when he was eating it. The fries were very good too. The burgers were delivered to our table by perhaps the Manager? He was friendly and thoughtful.
You might want to consider the Manager being at the front of the house, taking orders, introducing people to the menu, answering questions instead of delivering the meals. That would’ve made such a difference in our first impressions as well as long lasting impressions.
I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad to go and a hamburger for my parents. My Mom said the salad was extremely disappointing. Brown lettuce and a few bits of chicken here and there. Plus what type of establishment serves ranch or honey mustard dressing with a Caesar Salad? They just don’t go with this type of salad. You need a Caesar dressing with a Caesar Salad.
Other things to note: the women’s restroom was out of order and if you want tap water with your meal, you have to pay for a regular drink cup. Luckily I had water in the car I could bring in.
Overall, we thought the burgers were good. Wouldn’t go out of our way to eat there but might consider re-visiting if in the area.
If you improve your customer service - have friendly helpful people working your cash registers, offer no charge water cups, fix the women’s restroom, improve your Chicken Caesar Salad, and continue to serve your tasty burgers then this would be a place to return to time...
Read moreI ordered the Impossible Melt combo..added mushrooms with Onion rings and a cookie and cream shake in replacement of my regular drink. The burger was cooked well, but the onion rings surprised me. There were about 10 of them (good size) and I ate about 4 with no issues… but as I got to my next one which was bigger, I took a bite and INSTANTLY spit it out…noticing that this wasn’t cooked the best PLUS it was a piece of hair on my onion ring that I didn’t notice until I was inspecting it since I saw the breadcrumbs were oozing out the onion ring. Now I wish I never ate the ones I did nor ate the burger (which I ate half of it and didn’t have issues) I inspected my burger before eating it (which I usually do) and added some ketchup (how I like it) and it looked good with no issues and the meat was cooked. This onion ring and the piece of hair turned me off.
I was hungry for a burger while I was out and about…decided to give Wayback a try since I’ve had them before and didn’t have any complaints.
This here makes me want to just wait and eat my own cooking for good.
I gave them 3 stars for the fact that the burger and the shake was good but the onion rings truly turned me off! All the way!
Nobody wants to see somebody else hair on their food, nor wants to see their onion ring filled with dry breadcrumbs. Obvious it wasn’t cooked throughly and people make mistakes but this here is something a customer shouldn’t have to expect when they are paying for their food.
My heart goes out to all cooks who take time to cook food for others, but you gotta cook right AND be sanitary…Hair isn’t good to see on your food from NOBODY!
Customer service from Victoria was good, no issues…which helps with the review I gave as well.
Would’ve given them no stars , but the heart I have allowed me to take in the good and weigh it out with the bad which made me give...
