Really, really good food!! Great selections & great prices. Our server was very pleasant. The atmosphere was clean and cozy. Great bakery and coffee selections. Highly recommend the blueberry muffins!!! Great pastries!!! The restaurant was very busy, with not a lot of staff. Expect and plan for a wait, but the food IS DEFINITELY worth it. Also, as an FYI, expect a 4% charge if using a card.
I don't like to leave negative feedback. However, I do think that the end of my experience is worth mentioning. Before we were finished with our meal, we ordered and paid for an Americano coffee to go. 5-10 minutes later, we finished our meal and then had to wait at least 10 minutes before we were able to pay at the counter. We then another 10+ minutes waiting for the coffee to be up before asking about the status of it being ready. The barista (who was very busy) told us that she was "busy and behind"...and thats it. She appeared annoyed with the inquiry and went back to making coffee. We had to wait another 5+ minutes before being able to catch our server to ask about the coffee order. She received the same reply from the barista, who was now visibly annoyed by our attempt to find out the status of the drink. After that response, the server was clearly flustered, and we were no closer to an answer about the status of the coffee. We then decided to leave. We waited approximately 30 minutes for an Americano that we never received...

We walked in and received a few unwelcoming looks from the employees. We walked up to the sign that said “Please wait to be seated” and waited there for a few minutes while the workers all chatted amongst themselves. I said “Hello” and they still ignored us. Another few minutes go by and we are finally greeted and seated. A server took our order right away so I thought all was well. But an hour goes by - people that came in after us are already done eating. Our server tells us the kitchen is yelling at each other, but that our food will be out shortly. Another thirty minutes goes by and she comes to apologize with a muffin and a scone and tells us that the stove is having issues cooking an egg, but that our food will be out next. But I’m passed my point of waiting and do not even trust the food. We tell her we are leaving and she tells us they have our food plated. I don’t want food poisoning so we tell her no and she continues to tell us our food is ready and can be packaged to go. We reluctantly agree - wait a few more minutes and our food is no where to be found. We go up to the register and pay for our drinks and still our food is not packaged to go.
I had hopes for this place from all the good reviews, but it...
Read moreTL:DR Not vegan friendly, poor service, will not be coming here anymore. I have been coming to the Serving spoon for a long time. I stopped eating dairy and meat 2 years ago and since I have gotten the portobello mushroom sandwich. I omit the pesto and cheese so it literally a bun and mushrooms. They offer mushrooms on breakfast sandwiches so I think, what's the trouble to have the mushroom sandwich for breakfast. The waitress always made me feel like I was doing something terrible asking her to ask the cook to do this. Finally I find out the bun is the issue, they don't have the lunch item out during breakfast (but they always did it, guilting me the whole time). I started getting on a croissant because that's available. Still a bit of an issue. Today I asked for basically the garden breakfast bagel, sub croissant, no cheese or egg (so just spinach, tomato and mushrooms on a croissant). Simpler than the menu item and how many times do people sub breads. The waitress came out and told me I needed to pick something else because they were busy. I stated that I'm literally asking for less than the menu item and the waitress insisted very firmly that I needed to pick another item. So oatmeal or potatoes are it if you're a vegan and want...
