I chose this place because the reviews were pretty good. I was less than excited after eating there however. The staff was very friendly, but the service was sub-par, as was the food. They also only accept cash (and maybe checks-not sure). No credit cards. Not a big deal, but I was first informed of this after ordering. A courtesy notice up front would have been a bit appreciated. There is no sign on the door or anywhere noticeable. We ordered Yum Neur (their spelling I do believe was a bit different- as American translations seem to vary and is typical), fried chicken, sticky rice, eggrolls, and some other stir fry like dish (devil something or another). The Yum Neur was just sour, didn't have the ginger or sweet flavor I am accustomed to from any other Thai restaraunt. It frankly was just barely edible, if not for the fact it was cooked very well (beef was tender and not over done, vegetables were pretty fresh). It came with stricky rice which was ok-maybe a bit on the dry side, but it is after all a restaurant. My girlfriends dish (the devil stuff) tasted ok, but it seemed to be no more than fish sauce, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. It was cooked very well though. Both our dishes were to come with soup- but it never made it to the table. The fried chicken we actually had to send back because some of it wasn't cooked thoroughly- the bones were still red with blood. Of course the little one didn't notice until it was too late. The eggrolls did look good, and the older boy did seem to like them, but I really couldn't give my opinion on them. The menu, although having some unique items, was definitely lacking many of the typical Thai dishes I have grown to love. Also there was not any hot food on the menu- the dried pepper seemed to be a pepper of a mild variety.
Overall I would not overly recommend unless you are really in the mood for Thai and you don't have access to any other Thai restaraunts. Would I ever go back? Maybe alone, but I highly doubt I would bring the whole...
Read moreThe food over at Thai Cuisine is as good as it ever was, the biggest problem is their accessibility.
Last weekend we wanted to order take out. I called them at 4PM and no one answered. I tried again every couple of minutes until almost 4:30 and the entire time the line was busy.
I finally decided to walk my order in and it was simply because they were so busy. There is no other way to contact the restaurant, they have no web site, no way to place web orders, on top of that, they only accept cash and checks.
It's 2021, it's time to get with the times. Several of the local restaurants in the area have websites that allow customers to place web orders, if Brothers Three can do it so can Thai Cuisine.
The same goes for taking cards. Just make a minimum order mandatory for card payments or something. Almost everyone in town takes cards.
Anyways, docked the two stars for having to actually drive to the restaurant to order, because either no one was answering the phone or it was busy. My order was an hour out, so I ended up driving home and then having to come back a second time, because I wasn't going to wait an hour in the parking lot.
You guys can streamline the process, make this easier...
Read moreI used to visit regularly when I lived in Northern WI. After moving out of state, I am only able to stop a few times a year. The past three visits were Very Disappointing. Once they were closed when the online hours showed them open. Both of the other times they have been out of ice cream and no bean sprouts for the Pad Thai. The first time I was told that they were out, but my visit this past weekend, I was Not. I could have chosen another meal. The One waitress was so overwhelmed she just kept saying she didn't have time for this or that. They kept their phone off the hook beeping for nearly the whole time I was trying to order my take out. The owner was also very short & impatient with the waitress - who did try to keep apologizing at least. My next trip to WI & the U.P, I will find another place to spend $30 on One meal (which was a medium soup, one dinner meal and...
