Had a bad few experiences lately. This last time was just really disappointing. Out table had 2 x-large pizzas, 1 sausage and one half sausage and half pepperoni. Right away the sausage didn't taste right. Not like it was spoiled, but not good either. After a few pieces, it became obvious that the sausage was bad tasting enough that no one wanted to eat it. It's also not often that sausage is greasier than pepperoni, but this time the sausage was just rolling in grease. It was very busy night, and we hadn't seen our server since she dropped off the pizza. Because it was so busy, and we were hungry, everyone picked the sausage off the pizza and basically just ate cheese pizza. Don't let that fool you, it still didn't taste that good, but in the end we ate most of the cheese portion. We told our server about it, and she just kind of shrugged it off and said "oh that's too bad" and left. When it came time to pay, I took the check, and walked up to the counter. I didn't ask for anything for free, I simply asked if we could take the toppings off and pay for cheese pizzas. There was a pile of sausage on the pizza pans, and some left over pizza that no one wanted. I thought it was fair. The server at the register was asking people "can we do that?" like it was a hard question. Some guy comes out of the kitchen area and starts getting angry. He tells me they make the sausage them selves, and wants to know what was wrong with it. I try to explain that it tasted bad, not spoiled, but bad like a bad recipe. He doesn't like this. I think he makes the sausage and was taking it personally. We all eat there once a month or more. We know what it should taste like. If it's bad enough that we didn't eat it, that should be enough explanation. I can't tell you why it was bad. In the end, this is sort of a straw that is breaking the camel's back. We won't be back there for a while. Given that this isn't the first time the sausage has been bad (but it was the worst it has been) and the guy getting angry at me for not liking it, it's becoming an unwelcoming place to eat. We'll give it some time and try again I'm sure. PS: I still paid $35 for two pizzas and 4 drinks, even though we left about half a pizza on the table. No one really wanted to it fresh, let...
Read moreThis last week I went to our former favorite pizza restaurant "Ted's Pizza Palace 306 Main St E, Menomonie, WI 54751" for lunch and after we were seated we noticed that all the TV's were showing the nfl game. I went and asked them if they would change the channel (which they did). Then when I was leaving I stopped and spoke to one of their long time employees and told him I find it very offensive. that the nfl would openly disrespect my country's flag, anthem and military people and last but not least my father's Korean war service and sacrifices he made and my brother's military service AND EVERY RED BLOODED AMERICAN WHO HAS FOUGHT AND DIED AND THOSE WHO STILL SERVE AND PROTECT OUR COUNTRY AND FLAG and I was told that other people have the right to watch the nfl and if someone else had been watching it they would not have changed. I then spoke to the owners wife and stated that I would no longer be coming to their restaurant because of the nfl. I then told the same employee that I was going to leave negative feedback for them and he got angry and said his dad was a Korean war vet also and so what. I then told him just as other people have the right to watch the nfl I have the right to give teds pizza palace negative feedback and I was adding them to my boycott list I have been coming to this restaurant since its opening with my father since the 1970's and I encourage you to add them to your boycott list and let everyone know that SINCE THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR MEANS MORE TO THEM THAN ANY MILITARY PERSON PAST OR PRESENT SO LETS TAKE AWAY THEIR ALMIGHTY DOLLARS BY BOYCOTTING ted's pizza palace WHO SUPPORT THE nfl AND SUPPORT YOUR SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN WHO GAVE US OUR FREEDOM OUR FLAG AND OUR COUNTRY THROUGH THEIR SACRIFICES...On your reply the nfl is not entertainment when they are trying to politicize and invalidate what our flag and sacrifices mean to all Americans. If you think I am wrong just look at the nfl 3 weeks later there is a lot of angry veterans and Americans The unhappiness is spreading to the sponsors of the nfl .Just look around at...
Read moreFirst time at Ted's. We'd heard it was great but that was not our experience.
Positives: You can see the employees making the pizzas through a huge window out front while you are on the sidewalk which is cool.
Negatives: Service was poor! No one greeted us as we waited by the Wait to Be Seated sign even though several waitresses looked in our direction. I finally went to the register and asked if someone would seat us. They had to clean a table and we were seated. Our waitress was below par in several areas. First, she couldn't remember our drink orders. Why not write them down?? Second, prior to the meal arriving she took our glasses for refills. The pizza arrived and she asked if we needed anything like refills. Um, yes, the refills we already asked for but you didn't bring, parmesan cheese and salt. Third, she brought the refills but not the cheese or salt. We eventually took a jar of cheese from a neighboring table as they were leaving and flagged down a different waitress for salt. Fourth, our waitress did not check on us during the meal; we had to flag her down. Fifth, she started off relatively pleasant but by the end of our meal she seemed a bit annoyed that we actually needed some service. The pizza was only fair, not delicious as I'd read. We had the Fredo Pollo and Chicken Bacon BBQ (or something like that). I prefer edge pieces as I really like pizza crust but I found this edge crust to be large, dry, bland, and overdone. It kind of reminded me of saltine crackers. I would consider trying this place one more time as everyone has an off day and maybe my pizzas were made by a new cook or something but it's not high on my list of eateries in Menomonie. One last thing, which has no bearing on our experience but may matter to another visitor, masks were not required at all...
