Maxim's Pizza & Catering — Restaurant in Mentor

Over priced dry pizza. Ordered a pizza expecting the dough to be freshly baked when topped with the over priced toppings. Beyond words to explain how disappointed we were with this pizza. This was for a special occasion and wow what a mistake. They barely put any cheese and saying that is more generous than I would like to be. It was so pathetic, it is pizza and to literally have no cheese on several of the slices is ridiculous and what is there does not cover the entire slice. They take a pre baked dough slab and sauce it and "top" it and back in the oven to get that extra dry experience. Being baked and then baked again makes it so dry and over crispy it cuts your mouth to shreds and essentially chokes you. This is the most disappointing pizza I have ever had. We put our trust and confidence in this place and it was not deserved. Always treated nice but sorry for thinking of getting a whole pizza from here. Nope I won't make that pricey...

We just placed one of the many catering/carry out orders from Maxim’s for our family. My in-laws had requested Maxims to celebrate the new year! The roast beef au jus has been and always will be the best in Cleveland hands down! We paired that up with Cavatelli and that fresh Romano cheese. Try it sometime and taste it yourself!

I have been fortunate to experience Maxim’s food my entire life, making the trip to the store to visit my uncle, and grab that fresh piece of pizza with my dad.

Today, I still make that trip from Northfield to Mentor to experience the same quality of food, and friendly service that I had 40 years ago! It puts a smile on my face when my wife and kids now get the urge to drive out and get delicious food and experience the same thing I did. We are proud of our cousins today for working so hard to keep this family owned small business running everyday! Uncle and dad...

If you love pizza, wherever you are getting it is inferior to Maxim's! Real Italian pizza owned by the same family since the late '40s. A girl friend brought over a couple of slices (spinach/ olives and an artichoke slice- both olive oil base) & they were fantastic! Great crust! Authentic tasting! She has been going to Maxim's since childhood! Why did I not know about this hidden treasure? It is 5 min from my house, I've driven past it hundreds of times but just never noticed it. I have been there 3x in 3 weeks for different items; to try different items. Every item was fabulous! Pricing is the same as every other pizza place (not Dominos or Pizza hut because they don't make real, authentic food!). I have been going to P & P but never super happy about them; new ownership is a big step down from original owners! Try Maxim's. I will not go anywhere else...
