1 star is too many. I went today (10 days before Christmas) to find a reasonably short line at the Returns counter. As I waited, I observed cart after cart, and pile after pile of returns stacked in heaps! I noticed some carts had frozen food items. When I got to the counter, since my return was without a receipt and they couldn't look it up by my credit card (most stores do that now) I had to wait for a manager to approve my return. As I waited more and more folks lined up behind me and I noticed on the return counter a 2 gallon jug of milk that was returned...it looked like it was going to explode (curdled on top, clear liquid on bottom and bulging plastic container!) After waiting about 10 minutes for the "manager" to come approve my return, I overheard the girl (only girl) who was working behind the counter telling a colleague who came by that she'd paged the manager several times and could see her "chatting it up" out there. That's when I said..."Show me who she is" and she pointed her out ("Lady with the blonde hair") I asked the desk clerk to watch my purse and I walked out with the Blonde manager as she was going for her smoke break...needless to say, I gave her a mouthful and the red-haired guy that was with her said he'd send somebody over right away...as they continued on their smoke break. I went back in and the other "manager" took care of it right away, but I went away wishing I had taken pictures of the place. It was absolutely disgusting. I keep trying to tell myself not to get worked up about stuff like this, but I just can't help it. If I was the manager of that Walmart, I'd be helping that kid behind the counter and cleaning up that return area before even THINKING about taking a break! Good grief, where is the work ethic these days? I'm certain to never set foot in that...
Read moreWent to the Mentor store to get some usb headphones that their website said was available for immediate pickup. Went back to the electronics department and showed the woman working there the item on my phone. She immediately replied, "we don't have those here. I don't care what the website says." Then I asked about why the website says they are in stock and available here. She said that the website and stores are two different companies that don't talk to each other. I asked her where they would be if they had them. She took me to a small display of headphones with the old style headphone plug. I asked where the USB headphones were. She got angry with me. She raised her voice and took a very sarcastic attitude and said, "I don't care what you say, we have never had them in the store. I've spent more than enough time looking around in back to know that they simply don't know what they are doing. Your phone probably says they are at a different store." And she walked away muttering to herself. I really needed the headphones, so I took a chance and ordered them online while standing in the electronics department. It took about 15 minutes from the time I placed the order to being told they were ready for pickup. I went over to the pickup counter, and got my headphones. When I told the man at the counter what happened, he shook his head and said, "they were over in isle 72 right where they always are." I hate the Mentor store, but they had the item I needed. This experience just confirms that my impressions...
Read moreThis store is horrible and getting trashier all the time. Parking lot and entrances are a disaster and completely inconvenient to use. Lanes and spaces too narrow despite having plenty of land to make them larger. They fill all of the main store isles with displays that force carts to be used single file. Very annoying. Compound that by the fact that the grocery is in the completely opposite end of the building from the main entrance. Using the garden center would alleviate that however, the garden center has varying and unreliable hours of operation/access is often closed. Closed in the middle of the day in May, June, July, August, and closed for the season in September? The Garden Center closed in the Summer? Really? By the way, how do you know its closed? Do they post hours on the doors? No..because then they couldn't open and close it arbitrarily. No, instead you have to look for the orange cones outside the doors. Classy! They run the bare minimum cashiers at all hours and days of the week. Got thirty minutes every time you stop here? You better! By the way I brought all of these issues to the attention of a regional manager and they said they would correct the issue with the garden center. They lied. They did NOTHING. I cannot think of a store anywhere in our area that has a worse customer experience. The photos here on Google of clear isles, must have been taken by employees, it never looks that way. Thankfully new retailers have...
