When we sat down I asked the waitress if there was cilantro in the salsa, she said yes, both. I mentioned that I was allergic & that my face would swell if I ate some & asked about cross contamination when chopping. She assured me they wash their knives, but depending how allergic I was would I feel comfortable. While waiting for drinks, they suddenly brought me beans with cheese to dip the chips in, what a nice thing! I ordered a chili relleno & beef enchilada. My husband was thrilled with the food, cleaned his plate! The chili relleno was too spicy for me, although the taste was great. I ate the rest of my food & took the chili home for my husband the next day. The waitress was attentive without bothering us & although it was a little pricey for our budget ($20 each) my husband has every intention of going back. The salsa was on the sweeter side but a few drops of tapatio fixed it. The adjacent table was having a party and so we were entertained with lovely music.
I only wished they were a little more accommodating to vegetarians. The chips were cooked in pig fat and when asked if they could serve a small portion just fried separately, they said it wasn't possible. The rice too cooked with chicken broth. But they substituted it with salad for the vegetarian plate.
We finished with choco flan and fried icecream. The fried ice cream was the bomb but it is huge and...
