So this one was kind of hard to decide what to give it. The food was excellent as I did place a takeout order.
I had eaten at the one near the Walmart in okemos and this was the first time I had eaten at this one.
I was trying to place the order online with my phone but because I am vegetarian it really didn't have the options that I wanted to specialize or change something on the menu so that it would reflect no meat type of options.
So after fiddling with the app for about 15 minutes I finally decided to just drive over and place the order in the restaurant.
They were pretty busy and the waiter was I think a little overwhelmed maybe. I don't know if they were understaffed or not but he was kind of rushing me and when I would ask him a question about something. He really didn't know that much about it and had to ask somebody else.
I had ordered several items and I told him as long as he promised at the food was going to be good. I would leave a good tip since I wasn't dining in which I was joking, but I don't like giving a tip for food when I haven't even had a chance to try it out yet. He promised that it would be good which it was when I got home.
The problem was that I had ordered extra sides of beans and rice and guacamole etc. And I did not get it. Which falls back on me because I should have double checked everything but I was hungry and it was getting late and I just wanted to get home and I would just hope that the order would have been correct.
So with that in mind my roommate said it was very good and I thought it was also because the last few places we had been the Mexican food was awful and since I used to live in New Mexico I know what real Mexican food should taste like and this was very flavorful.
So I guess if you dine in, you'll definitely know what you're getting because you can ask them if they forget something. But if you're going to do a takeout, just double check that you get exactly what you ordered...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot very happy at all, I figured that I would try something new/different instead of ordering one of the usuals and lets just say I am very underwhelmed with this experience. First of all I donāt like to complain and I hardly ever do so, but after already having a very bad day I was looking forward to sitting watch some Netflix and eating a good Mexican meal. 1st issue: it took I believe just about 2hrs to get here and the restaurant is right down the street about 6mins or so away from me. 2nd issue: for the amount of cash I spent I was expecting a good size meal, portion to $ just didnāt seem fair on this meal. 3rd issue: I tried to overlook the other two issues and make the best out of it then I go to take a bite and everything was cold and soggy and falling apart and you really couldnāt tell what was what, I couldnāt even tell you if received the right order or not. Lol Long story short I expected a much better experience considering the amount of time and money it took to try and enjoy a dinner. After a couple of bites I actually gave the entire meal to the dog. Iām about to make some ramen noodles, enjoy the chips and salsa and watch a movie. I donāt see myself ordering from here anytime soon, thereās nothing like being excited over something after you hear so much good about a place just to be drastically let down. I wish Iād of thought to make a short video showing what I was dealing with.š¤¦āāļø Gn people stay safe. Before I forget, I do appreciate the people for still providing a food service and Iāve worked at plenty of restaurants so I know things can get hectic at times, but this was just a bad experience for me and I felt the need to voice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was fine - my son had an enchilada, my wife had the Cancun burrito, and I had the Ismael special (shrimp and chicken over rice) - but the service was atrocious.
They were semi-busy tonight with 4-5 servers. We sat at the entrance for about ten minutes with a couple ahead of us and another couple behind us. There was no one at the front door that entire ten minutes. As soon as someone did come up, all parties were seated immediately.
We put in our drink order, received our drinks and ordered our dinner - and that was all we saw of our server (at our table) the entire rest of our evening until the check came. Now... We saw him, but he was busy chilling, hanging out with a table of friends towards the front.
When dinner came, I thanked the (different) waiter and mentioned that we'll need silverware (as there was none at the table). Seven minutes... No silverware. Another server passed and I caught his attention and asked for silverware. Another five or six minutes... No silverware. I stood up, walked past both servers I had asked - who were watching basketball - and grabbed three settings off the top of the drink refrigerator.
No water refills. No check-in on food or beverages.
Terrible service.
At least the drinks were cold and the bathrooms were clean, I guess.
Update: While (this) Cancun was not my first choice tonight, it was late and the boys wanted enchiladas. Definite...
