Honestly one of the worst establishments in Meridian. I came after hours to the bar upstairs to celebrate my sisters birthday. I am underage and I was designated driving for my sister and her friends. We were talking to the security guard named Pat. Ben the other tall security guard was super calm and collected. We mainly talked to Pat. I asked if there was an X or a stamp they could put on my hand so I couldn’t get a drink. He said no which I understand. I simply mentioned how bars in Starkville handle underaged designated drivers and he got hostile for some reason. He started poking my chest and asking me if I could read the sign outside. My friend then tries to talk to pat and Pat pushed him to the side and said “I’m talking to you not dude over here in my ear.” Pat the security guard was overly aggressive for no reason. I then get tired of being disrespected and I turn to leave the establishment. Pat has to be held back by other security guards while I’m walking down the stairs on my own. Then the manager, shell, comes outside and proceeds to threaten to “bust me in my shit” as I’m leaving. Keep in mind that I am voluntarily leaving the premises. She then claimed I assaulted Pat which I never even raised my voice or got rude with him. I completely ignore her and I continue down the stairs. She proceeds to call me a “fat ass” as I’m leaving. I personally work in customer service so I completely understand Pat doing his job. I do not understand the unnecessary hostility on his part. There was no reason to belittle and talk to me as if I’m below him or for him to touch me. I also know that Pat has let in plenty of underaged women and he’s bent the “rules” for them. Shell on the other hand should not be employed anymore. She deserves no job in...
Read moreI came here with such high expectations after reading all of these amazing reviews just to leave extremely upset and disappointed. We walked in and the hostess was very kind and seated us right away. However, our waitress took forever to take our order for our drinks, and we waited even longer for her to even bring us two waters. Then, we sat there unattended for probably 15-20 minutes until we had to ask the hostess to tell our waitress we were ready to order. Keep in mind there was only maybe two other tables with people dining in at this time. There was one table across the restaurant that had maybe 5-7 people and that wasn’t even our waitress’ table but all of the workers, including our waitress, were gathered around them and not paying the other two tables any attention. Because of this we had to ask the hostess for refills more than once as well. When our food finally came out, it looked amazing and we were starving. But we were quickly disappointed. It had almost no flavor and my mom’s dish was cold. We ate what we could and then decided to order dessert, because surely they couldn’t mess that up and we didn’t want to leave this restaurant without at least eating something hopefully palatable. We were once again very underwhelmed. The portions for the tiramisu and the chocolate cake were huge but they were basically flavorless. After waiting probably 20 minutes after we were done eating, we had to tell the hostess we were ready for our check because our waitress never came to check on us. Even worse, as we were leaving the restaurant, we soon realized why we had waited so long because we saw all of the waitresses and some of the cooks sitting out back taking a smoke break. Overall, extremely disappointing and will...
Read moreGreat piece of Italy in town in Meridian!
Comfortable and relaxed atmosphere in a historic Victorian home turned Ristorante and Bar!
Nice front porch sitting. Excellent service. Great bar scene…there’s nothing not to love about Amore.
The dining experience starts with unique drink options and fresh baked bread/rolls with butter and Parmesan on the bread and butter or oil & vinegar accompaniment.
The Italian Margarita is surprisingly good. Sufficient wine list with a little variety for all. 1/2 off bottles on Wine Wednesday!
The Italian house salad is fresh and cold. Lettuce, cheese olives and red onion.
The mussels were good with a spicy, tomato broth. Perfect for dipping your bread in!
Tonight we had the veal Marsala and Veal Parmesan. The Marsala was tender, cooked perfectly with mushrooms and spaghetti pasta. The Marsala sauce was tangy and good.
The veal Parmesan was lightly breaded, crispy edges and tasty. Would order both dishes again.
The pasta and marinara was good. They know how to cook Italian dishes in this kitchen.
The tiramisu was excellent. Good balance of lady finger, mascarpone, espresso and cocoa, drizzled in chocolate. It’s worth the calories.
Friendly service and a perfect...
