This place used to be one of my favorite places to eatâŚ.until they robbed me. I brought my cousin from Texas to lunch here and I was in great spirits to show him some good Mexican food since itâs hard to find here compared to the motherland (Texas). I ordered my usual, Pollo Chipotle, and I asked if I could have a mix of shrimp and chicken since they a CamarĂłn Chipotle as well. I said, âcan you do a mix of both? Maybe a little less chicken but then add the shrimpâ? I said âIf I have to pay a little more, that will be okayâ. The waiter then asks âhow many shrimpâ? I was likeâŚ.âWhat? Heck I donât knowâŚ..5â? I was truly confused because who knows how many shrimp they would put in, in lieu of the chicken they normally put into the dish. Right? Well, my cousins says, âwow, that sounds good, Iâll try the sameâ. Soon, they bring the food and it looked just as expected, less chicken but with exactly 5 pieces of shrimp. The food tasted good as usual. Then the tab arrivesâŚ..they charged me $3 dollars for EVERY shrimp!!! I then went to speak to the owner and he said that it was considered a âsideâ. One shrimp? One shrimp is considered a side? How will that look likeâŚ..they bring you a plate and put ONE SHRIMP in the middle?!! They charged me $30 total for 10 quarter size pieces of shrimp. Then the owner pretends to NOT be the owner and says âitâs just the way the owners have it in the system and I canât do nothing about itâ; apparently he forgot that we had met before, however, he said, âYOU should have asked how much the side wasâ. Itâs not even listed as a side in their menu and the waiter never mentioned that it was a âsideâ and he definitely didnât mention that it was $3 a piece for what they consider to be âlargeâ quarter size piece of shrimp. The bill came out to over $70 for what used to be a $30 lunch for 2 people. I paid it and called them out for the thieves they are. They robbed me of $30 dollar and lost my families...
Read moreI have been going to Fiesta Guadalajara for 20 yrs to the Meridian location. I understand the prices for food have gone up significantly so their menu prices have gone up. My favorite & the only thing I pretty much order is the Guadalajara Burrito of course less meat now, not as big as it was & it now cost $25. It was $9.99 when I first started going but I get it the cost of things go up over the years but $25 for a burrito I can't do it any longer. They have been known for their amazing queso dip but now it is beyond nasty, I ordered it a couple of moths ago with my daughter sent it back took it off our ticket it was horrible it was chunky, it looked like sour milk, gritty & did not taste right what so ever. Thought it was a fluke one time issue. I went in on June 11 ordered some to go with chips & salsa got home opened it up & there was a significant amount of water sitting on top of the dip, there should not be water sitting on top, ever...as I stirred it it was once again nasty, chunky, gritty like sour milk. I was so upset & angry I spent $23 including tip for this & the chips & salsa . In my opinion they have lowered the quality of their ingredients, cut corners. I loved this place for years but I will not be going back ever again. Me, my kids & my friends would look forward to going on Friday or Saturday nights & I took my kids there for their birthday dinners because they loved it as much as I did. Well like I said I will not be going back & it breaks my heart. Don't get me wrong the owner is a great guy & so is his staff very nice, welcoming & incredibly courteous & very attentive to their customers. The food just isn't the same. This is just one 20 yr customers opinion. Go try it, you may like it, & maybe the prices don't bother you, but don't say you werent warned...
Read moreMy family and I have loved Fiesta Guadalajara for years. Tonight I have to say I was very disappointed and rather disgusted at some of the things I saw while waiting for our food. First I watched a young waiter put refried beans in a bowl which spilled over. He then used his finger to clean the spill off the side of the bowl, then lick his finger and then again clean the side of the bowl with his finger and then lick his finger again. I then watched the same young man pick a dirty knife off the floor, then proceed to put the paper covering in the baskets they put the chips in. No hand washing what so ever. The bar was a disaster! Apparently there is no designated bar tender. So the waiters and waitresses are making the drinks. I watched two waitresses dip glasses in the ice machine. Huge No, No. If they chipped those glasses. It would have been a painful night for who ever got a drink with glass chips. One waitress was pouring alcohol over the open ice machine, alchol dripping into the ice. But this is just the beginning. I then watch a waiter come over to make drinks, rinse his hands on the blender containers in the sink. Then pull one of those blender containers out of the sink and proceed to make a drink. He then reached his bare hand into the ice machine and added ice to the drink he is working on. I saw one waiter pick at a hangnail on his finger then pick up tortillas to put in them in the warmer...I could go on and on. I am very disappointed and will say we will not be visiting this restaurant for quite sometime. Someone needs to train/ retrain staff on hygiene and safe food handling practices. I really hope no one gets sick. I am not sure who is in charge, but I feel you have a right to know what is going on, for the safety of your guest and integrity of a family...
