I hate to write such a negative review to a place my family and I have love going to for the last few years every Sat morning for breakfast. Spending around $58 not including tip each visit. My wife loved the coffee and my son his hamburger and fries. For the past six months we have seen a decline in quality of not only service but in the food it self.
It all started with hearing first hand from our favorite waitress being unhappy with how management is running things. On her last week of working there she let us know she had to move on because she didn't feel any improvements was going to happen. We was sad to see her go. She was so kind to our son and always had a happy glow to her.
Then came the quality of food. From here say of staff, issues with vendors cause them to get products daily from the WinCo behind them. This cause some of the items on the menu to not be available or common dishes to be missing parts of it.
Then we started to see other Shari's closing such as all of Oregon and a all but two in Idaho. Twin Falls and the one in Meridian we go to.
Sadly yesterday was the final straw for us and Sheri's Restaurant. Pulling up we see a large sign out front say they are open. Almost a scream for business feel to it. My son even mentioned it seemed odd. There was about four cars in front/side and the time was around 9am. As we walked in we was noticed and waved to but was not directly seated. I had enough time to use the restroom and come back out just in time to begin the seating process. The table we was being placed at needed cleaning even though there was many clean open tables. After we sat down it was still a few min until we got menus. Note we never use them for we already know and get the same thing every time but still for a waitress that has never served us doesn't know this seems like a long time.
I got a soda along with my son and my wife got her coffee. We ordered our usual besides this time I got a cheese burger like my son always gets. I seen my wife was not at all happy with the taste of the coffee. She said it's different or somethings is off. So I tried it. It was for sure horrible. She couldn't even drink half of it.
We got our food in the regular time we normally get it and once again it was a disappointment. The burger meat was not what we use to get. and some of the meal of my wifes food was under cooked. The fries was good but overall it seemed low quality.
Our meal over all cost around $58 and I did leave a 18% tip. I feel like they are cutting corners and it is affecting the quality of the food.
Where did they go wrong with this chain of restaurants, I have no clue. But, with the decline of food quality and service. I feel these last two Sharie's in Idaho will fall to the restaurant graveyard.
This will be our last visit. Thank you to all of the current and past staff that was keeping it afloat...
Read moreOn Saturday August the 20 th, 2016 my self and a party of 16 stopped by Shari's in Meridian around 11 p.m. after the Caldwell night Rodeo like we have every year for the past 10 years. Speaking of which this was one of the smaller groups we have had compared to in the past. Upon arriving to Shari's in Meridian we showed up and were standing around for quite some time waiting to be helped. The waitress and the manager were totally ignoring our presence and being very obvious about it. Finally some one in our party, after waiting for forever, had the nerve to ask if we could get some help. That's when the waitress and the manager started to argue with each other right in front of us. After making fools of them selves they said no. I asked let me get this straight, you mean no as in you are refusing to serve us? The manager said yes because we only have two servers. The place wan't very busy and we were certainly aware that with a big group it can take longer to serve. Please keep in mind the absolute unprofessional, rude and down right bitchy way all this was handled (we would have been ok if they had told us there was just no way to get us in, please accept our apology). Instead they treated us in a way in which I have never in my entire adult life been treated like at a restaurant. So we left and went down the road to Denny's in Meridian, ID. and guess what, they only had two servers and a manager(just like Shari's) and to top it off they were very busy. They sat us down, said it might be a few extra minutes but they were happy serve us. We got our food were served by friendly people and had a great time. Shari's will not have our annual business after the Caldwell Night Rodeo ever again or any other time for that matter. Also FYI treating 16 people like that is a great way in getting out the word of where not to go and why. Get your stuff together or get out of the hospitality industry all together. Terrible, terrible, terrible service. I would give no...
Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER. And i was only there for less than 10 minutes. Also I can't choose no stars so fyi, it is a zero star establishment. Me, my husband, and a friend went last night. As soon as we walked in, the waitress walked passed and said she would be right with us. No eye contact, no smile. So we wait for her to take the things to the table, and she walks back by us not saying a word, and pretends to be doing something when she could have just sat us down. Then she goes back to the table and just keeps talking to them. I don't know if they were friends of hers, or just costomers talking about pie. The fact is the waitress passed us THREE times and never sat us down. Oh and i might add, they were NOWHERE NEAR BUSY. AT ALL. I have worked in the food business so i know what happened was not acceptable. In my whole life, i have never had to wait more than 1 minute to be seated (exceptions are busy/nice places and they give you buzzers). We waited over 5 minutes after the lady's half assed greeting and still were not paid attention. Let me add really quick, I am white, my husband is black, and our friend is hispanic. So we walked out, only to see two white girls walking in, and we watched from my car as they got sat down as soon as they walked in. This place was not busy by any means, and it was so obvious after the two girls got sat down right when they walked in, that this place, is NOT the place to go. It is so sad that this kind of stuff is still around, especially in a big city so close to an Air Force Base and with a guard base where we are so diverse. So we still wanted pie, and went to the Shari's on Franklin Road by Cabela's and had an AMAZING experience. Got Seated within 15 seconds and food was amazing! Wait staff was very nice...
