Very disappointed with the experience. I drove my family out 50 min for my mother’s birthday and when we got there the waiter seemed so distracted and never wrote down our order, once the food came she didn’t ask us if it was ok or if we needed anything. Most of the items we ordered were missing. We looked and waited for our waiter for 20 min until we had to ask three different waiters for the items. One of the sides was still missing and after getting through half our meal it still wasn’t out, once we asked a different waiter for them (because our initial waiter was no where to be found) they brought the side. Already we were a little annoyed at the fact that we expected better service, we finished our meal and my husband asked for a Piña Colada with alcohol. Once it came out he tasted it and I tasted it (I had previously drank one with my meal) and his didn’t have alcohol, he politely signaled the manager- he ignored my husbands signal, we waited 10 min for our waiter to come around to send the drink back, my husband annoyed asked to switch the drink to a margarita instead , The waiter takes the drink and comes back saying she can’t switch it because the drink wasn’t to the rim of the cup anymore (it was still more than half filled and of course it wasn’t at the rim, he had to taste it). We asked if they could just take the drink back and not charge it because he didn’t drink it. Refusing they wanted to charge the drink he not only wasn’t happy with but didn’t drink! The manager came out and said he couldn’t do anything about it. I expected him to be a little more helpful due to the fact that we had been served terribly all night and he ignored my husbands signal when he initially got the drink. It seems like everything about our experience there went bad! Our bill finally comes and they had charged us for the initial side we waited so long for (the side was included in the meal my husband got, so there was no need to charge it extra) and they were charging the drink he didn’t drink, plus a 20% tip for the waiter that was never to be found !!! Simply horrible experience. The food is good but to drive out to this place to not be able to enjoy it properly it’s not worth it, there are better grills...
Read moreNOT LARGE GROUP FRIENDLY!!
So first off, I want to say that the food is good. No complaints about how the food tasted.
Victor's was a disaster for my large group. My people had fun there, but the overall experience was infuriating.
I called ahead at least a week, maybe close to two weeks early and coordinated for a private room for my group of 40-50 people, which was for my wedding rehearsal dinner. I said when we would be there and asked if there would be any other considerations we needed to know. I was told no, but due to a clear language barrier, I had my Best Man (a fluent and native Spanish speaker) call them again to ensure that our group of 40-50 people would have a private room and that everything was good. Victor's said that we were good to go.
Victor's flat out lied to us. We basically received a large corner in the main area of the restaurant. It was incredibly noisy and busy.
We were also there for roughly an hour, maybe an hour and a half, before they even STARTED taking meal orders, even though I and my best man started bugging them about taking orders well before they actually started doing it. Then, we received a very limited menu due to the size of the group, which we were never told would happen until we were already there.
I also asked that all of the food be put on a single check and that any alcohol people bought would be paid for by the person who ordered it. That didn't happen either; all of the food and alcohol got combined onto a single check.
Lastly, when I asked that they turn the music down so that my wife and I could at least take a few minutes to thank our friends and family for coming and so that we could hand out gifts, they refused to turn the music down for us.
So overall, while the food was good when they finally brought it for us, I will never go back there. The overall experience really turned me off to Victor's. I'll give it two stars solely because the...
Read moreMy family of nine went to Victor’s Grill to celebrate my brother’s birthday, and it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.
First red flag: no Coca-Cola. How does a restaurant not have the most basic drink? Then I tried ordering the ribeye—at a steakhouse—and was told they didn’t have it. No sign, no notice, nothing. We should have walked out right there.
I ordered two steak salteñas, and what came out was a joke. They were tiny, filled only with bland ground beef, and had a terrible taste. The cheese rice was watered down, the parrillada was flavorless, and my son’s rice was so bad he didn’t even touch it. For a place that supposedly specializes in grilled meats and sides, everything was poorly made and disappointing.
The service was just as bad, maybe worse. We specifically told the waiter it was my brother’s birthday—they completely ignored it. When I asked for a glass of water, it never came. I went to the bar myself twice, and both times I was told to “wait for the waiter.” After ten minutes of choking on dry yucca, I finally demanded it, and only then did someone bring water. No one should ever have to beg for something so basic.
To top it off, when I was packing my wife’s leftovers, the waiter snatched my plate away before I could finish. At the end, I had to track them down just to get a simple paper receipt.
And to make things even worse, when I tried contacting the restaurant afterward to share this feedback, their email turned out to be invalid. So not only was the food and service terrible, but the business can’t even be reached properly.
This place is disorganized, careless, and the food is not worth the money. They ruined what was supposed to be a special celebration. We will never be back, and I strongly recommend avoiding...
