DIETARY RESTRICTIONS ARE SERIOUS AND THIS LOCATION TREATS THEM AS AN AFTERTHOUGHT - My delivery order from the Merritt Island First Watch was a complete disaster. I ordered turkey sausage with my French toast, but received pork sausage instead, making my entire meal inedible. As a NON-pork eater, this was incredibly disappointing and concerning.
When I contacted the restaurant, the manager couldn't even locate my order. I was eventually contacted by a general manager who, after significant discussion, refunded my order and offered to comp a future meal to make up for the error.
Weeks later, when my mom went to the same location for breakfast, I decided to give them another chance. I called ahead, explained the situation, and was assured they'd take care of it. However, upon pickup, the general manager who happened to be there insisted that because my previous order had been refunded, the comped meal was no longer valid. My mom ended up paying for half the meal.
To add insult to injury, the French toast I received still lacked basic necessities like syrup. It's unbelievable.
This experience was a complete failure on multiple levels: incorrect order, lack of attention to dietary restrictions, miscommunication about the comped meal, and missing essential items. I’ve never had such a poor experience with First Watch until this Merritt Island location. Non-pork eaters, please be extremely CAUTIOUS and DOUBLE-CHECK your orders. I will not be returning.
** The picture below is the “comped meal“. If you can’t tell, it’s supposed to be French toast, but it appears to be...
Read moreWanted to check out this new location in Merritt Island. We ate outside which was available with minimal wait. We ordered our drinks which were served fairly quickly, but water had to be requested twice. Our waitress got my order wrong so I had to wait for a replacement which I ended up taking ot to go as my family had finished their food already. The Morning Meditation drink was very good. My wife got the Quinoa Power bowl with Italian sausage and two fried eggs. The eggs were only half cooked with semi clear white, which gave her an upset stomach soon after eating. The fried eggs needed to be cooked solid. It otherwise tasted fine. My son got the Chickichanga which was an omelets base with chicken fried onions and some spicey sauce. It was the best thing we had and quite delicious. I had ordered the eggs bennict, BLT version, but was served a regular BLTE (BLT with eggs). I felt bad the server got it wrong but they offered it for me to have the correct order to go. Unfortunately, poached eggs don't warm up well, so it was not reviewable at this time. The coffee was good, not great. We also ordered a Million Dollar Bloody Mary, which tasted good and came with one of their Million Dollar bacon strip (maple glazed bacon). But not an olive to be had, which kind of reduces the drink to a spicy red broth. Overall, the concept is sound, the staff very polite and we will give this place another chance again, hopefully with better luck...
Read moreA good breakfast choice by the Merritt Island Square Mall I recently visited the First Watch in Merritt Island, Florida, and had a very pleasant experience from start to finish. Parking was easy, and the location is convenient, right off the main road, outside the mall in a stand-alone building. As with most of their restaurants, it was clean, bright, and welcoming. I was seated quickly. The staff was friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout my visit. The menu had plenty of fresh, healthy options, which is something I appreciate about all the restaurants I have visited of this chain. I ordered the Trifecta—eggs, bacon, and a Belgian waffle—and everything was hot, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The bacon was crispy, the eggs cooked just right, and the waffles had a nice golden, crispy texture. The one difference between this dish and other locations is that they do not give jam with the dish. I also liked how the staff kept the space clean and checked in at just the right times—never overbearing, just helpful. Prices were a bit above average for a breakfast spot, but considering the quality of the food and service, it felt justified. Overall, this First Watch location delivered exactly what I was looking for: a tasty, no-stress meal in a comfortable setting. I’ll...
