The last few years, each time I go to outback or get a to go order, I get reminded that it is not worth the price paid. Three separate times, I order a 8 oz steak and I get a 4 oz steak, I actually measured it the last time that I received one. My last time I visit the Outback in Merritt Island, I ordered three outback specials, the 8oz. For Christmas I purchased a $75 gift card for a friend and I figured I would make it $100 since they give you an extra 10 for each 50 gift card that you buy. When I went to pick the three orders of steak, the order was $52 and change. I gave the girl the $25 gift card and two of the $10 cards and $15 in cash. She went in and came out a few minutes later and said that they can not except the cards together, that it can be only used on one order. I said that she could cancel the order and ring it up 3 separate orders, that would solve it. Bottom line, after showing up when they text me its ready, 25 minutes later the manager shows up and told me that since I didn't specify that I had three orders that they couldn't honor the cards. Now I may be wrong in this situation but to me this is bad business. Having to not sell a product and not keep a customer happy, I would have done it different. We will not be doing business with Outback of Merritt Island again. After that I spent another 20 minutes getting my refund for purchasing the card. They didn't want to refund it when I had the receipt and the gift card for 25 and the 10 extra. Until I told the other manager the story of what happened, she said that they didn't refund gift cards, even with the original receipt. Keep that in mind the next time a gift card is purchased from Outback. For me it will be Long Horns...
Read moreI'm honestly surprised that I haven't written a review yet! Every time we come here, to this specific location, we find ourselves having an enjoyable experience - regardless of lunch or dinner, weekend or weekday.
The building is kept nice and clean, with plenty of lighting without an overabundance of brightness. Even the restrooms, which tend to be overlooked in most restaurants, are nice and inviting.
The staff is also very polite, personable and knowledgeable. We went one night with our child and the waiter made sure to talk with him about a book that he had brought to dinner, which really impressed him! Another time we had a waiter who admitted that it was his first day on the floor from training, and though we could tell he was a little "green" he did an excellent job overall!
Food wise, this location has struck gold with their cooks. We have yet to have a bad experience! Steak is cooked to perfection, potatoes are done just right ( with noticable salt on the skin), and delicious flavors all around. I don't normally drink coffee for lunch or dinner while going out, but this restaurant also has excellent coffee that I will request...
Read moreThe service started out great. Bread and drinks arrived right away. The waitress was cheerful, initially. It was a long wait until we were able to get her attention to order. After taking our orders- three out of five of us wanted another round of drinks. The opportunity to order them never came. After a long wait- the food arrived... and every meal was cold. Five cold meals- steaks, shrimp, sweet potatoes, potatoes,... the brocolli was warm on one of the plates. The Expo then had the manager come to the table and she explained they were having, "... a time in the kitchen." She offered to replace our meals, but we had already waited over 35 minutes just for the food. Another 15 minutes before the waitress came back, to deliver our bills. She then returned with only one paid bill, and not the other bill (with the accompanying credit card). We had to ask another waiter to go and retrieve that credit card from our waitress... ten minutes later!!! She returns to our table, minutes later to explain she was busy getting bread for another table, and had the audacity to ask us if we wanted to see the manager.
We may try to go back in a year, if...
