Dave’s KILLER Bread is the perfect name for one of their bakery selections as that’s how I almost ended up after eating from this company. I purchased an Organic Multi Grain with Omega 3 from Costco by Alpine Valley Bread. I was going to toast the bread when something in my gut said “Something is wrong here”. Mind you I ate more than half of the package when I came across DIRTY ELECTICAL COPPER WIRE baked in the bread! I was in complete shock and thought I have heavy metal poisoning. I reached out to the company and claimed they needed to confiscate the bread to “Test It for the electrical wire” and where it came from. They seemed so frantic they wanted to send a stranger to my house and I said no. They claimed I could mail it but I decided to go to Costco where I bought it. Costco gave me the run around stating it’s third party and they have nothing to do with it. Well they never pulled the bread from the shelves putting others at risk. They toke almost a month to send the bread to Alpine. Alpine lied to them and said they were in contact with me but that was a TOTAL LIE!!! They never reached out further, never compensated me for medical bills, they didn’t even say sorry. DON’T SUPPORT THIS COMPANY. They are obviously baked bread in an unclean environment and negligence is not an issue in their eyes. I THANK GOD I DID NOT LOSE MY LIFE. Shame on you Alpine!! They didn’t even care to report to the FDA, this should have been a recall. I called everywhere and got the run around but I will make sure people know about this grimy company! The bread outlet store is actually at 310 W Southern Avenue in Mesa. As of mid September 2024, if you use Google maps to get here, the Google lady will tell you to turn in at the entrance to the actual bakery. The sign for the outlet store clearly gives the street address as 310. Also, Google seems to think this place is a restaurant. It is not a restaurant. It is a bread store. You don't eat your bread here. You buy your bread and go home (or to the park or at least out to your car) to eat it. When I visited, Dave's Killer Bread was mostly 2 loaves for $5, which is a good price, but not a rock bottom price like I hope to see at bread outlets. There are other bakery items from other companies sold here. I didn't think any of the prices on the other products were good deals. I think I could get better prices on some of those items by going to Dollar Tree. The store is small (one room), and the worker didn't even say hello when we walked in, which was kind of awkward.

Not only does this place have great bread all of their bread is made from fresh ingredients and made locally In the building in the back. Twice a week they discount their old bread so you can get really really good bread at a very low reasonable price if you come often enough and know which days of the week to use. They also have cute little snack cakes for the children to choose from and a great selections of jams and jellies and soups to purchace that you can use with their bread. This place used to be Alpine Bakery. Ive been coming here for years. You will want to buy a lot so bring a laundry basket to carry it all. Parking is limited it only has Room for 7 cars and one handicap space. They do have a clearly marked cross walk for pedestrians from the sidewalk to their front door which is nice.

Walmart charges about $5.60 USD per larger loaves of Dave's Killer Bread in the 1 lbs, 9 ozs (or 25 ozs) wider loaves. I get same loaves here for $1.00 per loaf - a GREAT DEAL, IMO!!!! Just pick thru & find loaves that are not crushed or deformed - it may take a few minutes & the best deal is on the "WIDER" loaves (the 25 ozs loaves). Look for them only, if you like bread for BIG sandwiches. I prefer the Dave's Killer breads with 4 or 5 grams of FIBER per slice, so my bowels move well! I am moving soon from Mesa to SCW (Sun City West) and will really miss this place for SUPER BREAD DEALS. Since the company was bought out, a few years ago, by Dave's Killer Bread Co (is my guess?), it has gone a notch or two down hill (in selection & quality), but, IMO, is still a better & more affordable bread source than 90% of the bread out there, at Walmart, or sold by high-end custom bread shops. Give it a try if you are on a budget & use a lot of bread in your household! You will not be unhappy. Just be picky when going thru the loaves and pick the "BEST...
