I wish I could leave zero stars. I haven't been here in 3 years, but my daughter wanted to go for her birthday. We paid for our tickets and were detained at the gate for having granola bars. After waiting for 10 minutes at the gate, the girl employee who stopped us started giggling to the ticket taker that she didn't actually call for a manager for approval because she didn't feel like it. After I insisted, she stormed off while rolling her eyes in annoyance. After waiting 20 minutes in 108 degree heat, a manager comes up, I explain we have an ADA disability that prevents us from eating their food and that we only had a granola bar each and she says that's fine. No apology, nothing, just lets us through. Then to add insult to injury, we kept running into little miss eye roll throughout the park and she kept glaring at me and my kids. We get to the wave pool, which now does not allow rafts. My kids try swimming out into the waves and my daughter starts visibly struggling. The lifeguards did nothing. I swam out and began supporting and pushing her back to the shallows, a lifeguard looks straight at us, does nothing, and I'm left to swim her to where she can touch. We go to the single person slides and while my two young daughters are waiting in line for the slides and I'm in the pool below, all the lifeguards in the area decide to hold a drill. I had no idea what was even happening and continued to wait for my daughters to come down the slides. I was then yelled at by a lifeguard to leave the area. I tried to explain and grab my shoes and another lifeguard started yelling at me. I wait at the gate entrance hoping my kids would be allowed out. Finally after 15 minutes, my crying daughters are escorted to me and we were rudely told to leave the area. While calming my daughters down, they explain that all the lifeguards disappeared from the top of the slides, telling everyone to leave. The girls tried to get back to me only to be blocked by every lifeguard along the way. They had to ask 5 different lifeguards for help before someone assisted them. THE LAST TIME I CHECKED KIDNAPPING CHILDREN IS A REAL EMERGENCY!!!! We will not be going back to Sunsplash again. In my 30 years to going to water parks I have never had such a horrible experience.
