If you haven't been here, you gotta go! AZ Chimney Cakes is just inside the Paradise Valley Mall between JC Penny's and Macy's on the southwest side. It's a walk in place with a few tables. The freshly made and baked-as-you-watch Chimney rolls are DELICIOUS Pick either a savory roll or a sweet roll. We had the savory 1/4lb hot dog roll that is made with havarti cheese baked until the outside is just delicately crispy (think croissant) and the inside is a tender slightly sweet yeast bread. For dessert, we had the heavenly fresh Bavarian cream, homemade on site which is stuffed inside the chimney cake. All sweet cakes have a toasty outside with cinnamon and sugar. As a whole it isn't overly sweet - just perfect. Take your pick. They have strawberry, chocolate, Oreo cream filling, coconut or the original Bavarian cream. OMG, they can even make an ice cream cone from the cake as well. For coffee lovers, they have Italian espresso and other beverages too. One of the owners, Kathy,is so kind and talked about her and her son's business - most of it run from food trucks. Try this! You'll be amazed! and you don't have to chase a food truck. YOU GOTTA TRY IT! 4568 E Cactus Rd

Excellent place for a treat, too bad it's only open weekends.

I’ve been hearing so much about chimney cakes — those sweet, cylindrical pastries of European origin — and finally decided to give in to the hype on a Sunday evening. We were looking to satisfy our sweet tooth, and AZ Chimney Cakes delivered! Tucked right next to Cinemark, this cozy little spot is only open from Friday to Sunday. The first thing that struck me (and made me smile) was that the entire place is run by women — love seeing that kind of girl power in action! There was a good crowd when we arrived, but we were warmly welcomed and invited. I went with the Biscoff Chimney Cake and a White Chocolate Mocha. Heads up: everything is made fresh to order, so there’s a bit of a wait — but trust me, it’s worth it. When our order arrived, the cake looked absolutely dreamy. It came with a soft serve swirl on top, and the chimney cake itself was crispy on the outside with a soft, fluffy interior. The caramelized sugar coating gave it that perfect sweet crunch. It was decadent without being too heavy — exactly what I hoped for! The coffee? Strong and smooth — just the way I like it. All in all, we had a fantastic experience. Great vibes, delicious treats, and lovely people.

6-8-23 I went to try these chimney cakes today. The pictures make it look very appetizing and I decided to try it out. However, I was surprised at the results. The chimney cakes were raw, the top row was fine, but the 2nd row down was raw. It wasn't soft dough like a cinnamon roll or other pastries. (As another reviewer said.) It was raw. Those saying it wasn't raw are probably the type of people who like to eat raw dough. While I was waiting for my order, I saw other customers throw away their chimney cakes and had mumble it was raw. Imagine paying $10 just to throw it away because it wasn't cooked through. I rather give my $10 to another company. I took mine to go and found out about it being raw while at home. If I had found out it was raw at the store, I would have made it known to the owners. I will say that the workers were very nice and professional which was a great start to my visit, but initially the raw uncooked product was the companies demise and I will never be going back to the place. If you want to try this place and waste $10 it is a free country go ahead. I'm just sharing my experience.

Update 6-12-23 247pm

Even if I had a conversation with you in store I would still write a bad review about my experience. No conversation would change my opinions about writing the review. Please don't try to push the blame on me for not notifying you as I said I took my chimney cake to go and found out it was raw at home. You are the company take responsibility for your mistakes. Your response just made the experience with your company worse. Definitely will not go back even if it's the only thing left to eat in the...

My son, his family took their daughter and me for desert. The idea is great, it is wonderful, the idea that is. My daughter in law and I both got the Bavarian cream with straw berries. My grandaughter got a cone with soft serve vanilla. Just her size, and she had half of it before she called it quits. I had shared my dinner with her and she was stuffed to the gills. The one my daughter in law and I got were good looking. The strawberries, three pieces of a barely red half of a berry had no no strawberries flavor. But then again, I was raised to grow crops, animals for food, and how to cook, clean catch fish and beasts for the table. The Bavarian cream was full of air, warm, and did taste a bit like Bavarian cream. The outside of the Chimney was cooked, had sweet type spices on it. Abd the wonderful aroma of a fresh made pastry. Mmmmm. The inside was raw dough. I tried to make believe it was bavarian cream that had soaked the pastry chimney. Nope raw dough. I also bake breads, cakes and pastries. The idea is wonderful, more than wonderful. The scent of fresh pastries is great. Please I ask that y'all learn the procedure for fully cooking the pastries. My sone lives about 500 miles away. I will keep going to the Chimney Cakes each time I visit, because I know when you get it down correctly, there will be a long lines and reservations needed to obtain one of the...

We went last month for the first time with high hopes because we had heard great things about it. We got a text message they were ready just as we pulled in to Riverview which was on time with their 15-20 minute estimation when we ordered. When we got to the store we were told that was a mistake and they hadn't even started our order somehow. We were told 8 minutes but it ended up being closer to 15 which understandably mistakes happen but time is of the essence when we have two babies with us, which is why we planned ahead and called our order in advance.

When we got home to eat them about 10 minutes later initial bites were good but then we quickly realized that all four of them were still doughy and raw on the inside. We got two with cream so thought may just be because of the cream filling, but then realized it was also in the non filled ones and it wasn't cooked and soggy, it just wasn't cooked. It was disappointing to spend $30 for food we could only eat a very small part of (some parts we could tear the very exterior layer off separating from the bottom half that was raw) especially after the time wasted waiting. We have had these before in Budapest so know this isn't how they're supposed to be and can only assume this is either how this place serves them (no thanks) or they were rushing because they forgot our order and were prematurely finished...
