Having been to Cracker Barrel many times this meal was a real letdown. Our waitress checked us at the very beginning when we really hadn't eaten anything and we didn't see her until long past when we needed drinks to help with our meal. Subsequently she did not receive a tip. This location of cracker barrel near Bass pro is our preferred location. The food is always good for the most part, we do find things we don't care for as well as we find things that we thoroughly enjoy. I enjoy the hash brown casserole as a side dish. My wife enjoys the apple side dish. This time my wife had the meatloaf and was happy at how good it was. I had the maple bacon chicken which should have been an excellent choice but what I got was tasteless and slimy. The manager asked me a direct question as in passing as we were the last occupants in the restaurant before it closed. In answering in honesty I said no it wasn't any good. He then explained that he could get another meal for me which obviously was too late and he was going to taste some of the chicken himself to figure out what was wrong. He talked with me twice before we left. The ratings I gave for this meal were just for this meal not for what we normally enjoy here at cracker barrel. There was something wrong with my meal and had my waitress been more attentive it could have been rectified earlier. We will be going back and I will be more assertive about making sure that the waitress checks on us at more beneficial times. Fussing around us to get our order and getting it to us then ignoring us the entire meal until it's time for the bill is not exemplary and is not the norm for cracker barrel. I do hope that she is trained correctly and is given more insight as to proper service that should be rendered customers. As having the option between corn muffins and biscuits I prefer the corn muffins. But sadly they've either changed the recipe or something but they no longer have the light fluffy texture and so we will not be ordering them anymore either. I think that may be a corporate problem not a local establishment choice. So my wife will get extra biscuits as I do not eat biscuits for the most part and she loves them. We will re-returning soon and I will pick from the many choices the menu offers. During the summer I do enjoy the fish items...

Terrible Experience with Holiday Meal – Wrong Instructions and Poor Service
On December 9th, I ordered Cracker Barrel’s Heat and Serve Prime Rib Meal for Christmas Eve, planning to enjoy a stress-free celebration with family and friends. The meal was scheduled for delivery at 11:00 a.m. on December 24th, 2024. 1130 am rolled around there was no delivery so I called the restaurant they informed me they do not deliver on Christmas Eve or Thanksgiving Eve despite what the website offered. I'm so thankful that I called the restaurant because I would have not known this information. I did what they instructed and I drove down to the store to pick up my meal .
When I got home and opened the box, I realized there were no heating instructions included. Frustrated, I called the restaurant, only to be told by a staff member that I could either buy a cookbook in-store or check the instructions online. How frustrating and unprofessional! I eventually found the instructions online and followed them exactly: preheat the oven to 350°F, cook for 45 minutes covered, and then an additional 35 minutes uncovered to achieve medium rare.
When I took the prime rib out, the internal temperature was only 109°F—completely undercooked! Clearly, the heating instructions were wrong, and I was left scrambling to fix the meal during a holiday gathering. This was incredibly disappointing and far from the reliable, convenient experience Cracker Barrel advertises.
I would like a full refund for this purchase. The lack of proper instructions and inaccurate cooking guidelines ruined what should have been a special holiday meal. Cracker Barrel needs to seriously improve its service and ensure customers are provided with accurate, clear directions for preparing their Heat and Serve...

I thought mine was good but my older daughter let me taste some of her Catfish wow...Ok so ...I also stole a bite of my husbands steak, maybe 2. It was melt in your mouth good. They know how to season it, it was juicy and a perfect texture nice. All of it was so very amazing. Everything on the table was devoured to crumbs as the picture depicts. We tried the dumplings..."Out of this world"!! 🌍The kids loved their meals...mini cheeseburgers 🍔🍔 & then the shrimp 🍤🍤🍤with hush puppies. The coca- cola-chocolate🍫 cake desert was really moist and rich like an upscale brownie. My kids had so much fun with the dirt cup and gummy worms 🐛desserts. Laurie, our server was a softspoken, gracious person and very patient with us. Michele, the owner came out to talk to us. Her demeanor was welcoming and sweet and it felt like talking with family there. Thankyou, for this wonderful experience.
