TOTALLY WORTH IT! Stopped by for a weekday lunch, got the lunch special - SOO GLAD I DID! Service - fantastic. My waiter made always made sure my drinks were full and that I was getting everything I needed. He did so without being intrusive, and I appreciated that :-) Decor - decent, strip mall style. Food - SUPER impressed! Lunch combo came with a miso soup and a salad that I usually don't eat, but this salad was pretty good. I got the lunch sushi combo 1, upgraded to the blue fin tuna, and ordered a side of ikura nigiri. Ikura is salmon roe (eggs), they look like the little eggs from Finding Nemo :-P. The sushi was very fresh and flavorful, presentation was beautiful, portions were large and filling. Definitely would come back again for lunch!

Finding this place was a similar feeling to finding a $100 bill on the ground...AMAZING! Makitto is a fresh and relaxing space with a very clean and simplistic design. Staff was welcoming and ridiculously friendly. Now to the most important part...the food. U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E! For being a landlocked space nowhere near any fresh fish, it feels like they get their supply flown in by the Concorde every hour. Hands down the freshest and best sushi in Phx metro area and we've been to quite a few. The lunch specials allow for a sampling of so many varieties. $55 with tip was enough to stuff my wife and I. Their presentation is on point too. My wife and I highly recommend this place. But don't everyone come at once and screw up our favorite place.

The atmosphere was great, although it was weird that they were playing pop music, that was very unexpected. the bathrooms were clean as was The restaurant from what we could tell. The server was kind, prompt, and gave really great suggestions. We ended our meal with one of the most delicious cheesecakes ever. That recommendation came from are server and again, Im glad we took it. The egg rolls were awesome as well. We tried the NY roll for the 1st time. They weren't kidding when they say it's smoked. To me it tasted like "camping" lol; additionally they offer a military discount which I absolutely appreciated! Overall we would go back again & recommend it to others for a quick Sushi bite.

This was our first visit. Small, friendly, calming atmosphere. We were greeted upon first entering. Server was quite knowledgeable on their menu and was able to easily explain all the dishes we were unfamiliar with. After our order was placed, we were served in a timely manner. We started off with miso soup, a rainbow roll, California roll, and Marilyn Monroll. The miso was served hot and fresh. The rainbow roll was presented nicely and quite tasty. The Cali roll was fresh and a familiar taste to our palettes. The Marilyn Monroll was good and we'd recommend it if you want to try something new. Overall, great service, clean environment, pleasant service, and tasty food.

#Japan : Best Bluefin & Beer in the neighborhood! My first time at Makitto and it was great! We arrived and were told that there would be about a 30 min wait, not due to seating, but due to chef backlog… which was fine and worth the wait! Staff graciously allowed us to sit at sushi bar and have drinks while we waited. The Echigo is best japanese beer in AZ - hands down! And the lemon cucumber (spa water) infused sake is a 10 of 10! Pair either or both with some bluefin akami / maguro, chutoro, or otoro and u have an amazing meal!!!

Love this place! Servers always so friendly, food is always delicious and the lunch specials are priced really fairly in my opinion. We tend to eat a lot so our bill is on the higher end. Out of all the sushi places we've been to this is our favorite! Plus their holiday acholic drinks are delish. Always recommend but be aware it is a small place so on a busy night anything more than 4 I'd call Ahead to make sure they can accommodate you.
