I’m staying at the Hyatt next door and was craving sushi so I found this place on google. The reviews were good and the menu had a great variety. This is the first sushi place that I’ve seen offer REAL crab rolls instead of imitation. We ordered 2 of those, an eel roll and spicy tuna roll. The rolls were really tasty. Two days later we decided to place another order of sushi. I placed the order online and was called by an employee after he recognized my order from two nights ago and noticed I didn’t put a special request for one of my roll. My husband doesn’t like cucumber and I forgot to remove them on my second order and the employee caught my mistake. I appreciate the extra effort to ensure my order was correct. It would have been my mistake. Thank you for the quality meal and outstanding...

This has been my go-to sushi spot for over 5 years. Every visit is a mind-blowing experience. The chef is incredibly selective with his ingredients, often sourcing rare seasonal cuts that most places don’t carry like this Ora Salmon(this is the best bite of fish I ever had lol) and Blue Fin toro. The quantity and freshness of the fish is the best you can get anywhere in AZ. I highly recommend ordering nigiri and sashimi from the menu board by the sushi bar, it contains the best cuts of fish.

The restaurant isn’t flashy like a lot of trendy sushi restaurants in the valley. Instead, the focus is on the quality of the food. The sushi chef is an expert in his craft and it’s such a joy to watch him work. You can tell he takes immense pride in every...

TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Stopped by for a weekday lunch, got the lunch special - SOO GLAD I DID!

Service - fantastic. My waiter made always made sure my drinks were full and that I was getting everything I needed. He did so without being intrusive, and I appreciated that :-)

Decor - decent, strip mall style.

Food - SUPER impressed! Lunch combo came with a miso soup and a salad that I usually don't eat, but this salad was pretty good. I got the lunch sushi combo 1, upgraded to the blue fin tuna, and ordered a side of ikura nigiri.

Ikura is salmon roe (eggs), they look like the little eggs from Finding Nemo :-P. The sushi was very fresh and flavorful, presentation was beautiful, portions were large and filling.

Definitely would come back...

Finding this place was a similar feeling to finding a $100 bill on the ground...AMAZING! Makitto is a fresh and relaxing space with a very clean and simplistic design. Staff was welcoming and ridiculously friendly. Now to the most important part...the food. U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E! For being a landlocked space nowhere near any fresh fish, it feels like they get their supply flown in by the Concorde every hour. Hands down the freshest and best sushi in Phx metro area and we've been to quite a few. The lunch specials allow for a sampling of so many varieties. $55 with tip was enough to stuff my wife and I. Their presentation is on point too. My wife and I highly recommend this place. But don't everyone come at once and screw up our favorite place.
