I'm just going to put this out there right up front in the very beginning. When I walked in the door instantly, the vibe of this room was perfect. There was deep color painted on all the walls, nothing sterile at all. Zip zilch. Tons of artwork throughout the place. Small stage over on the west side, bar over on the south side. It was really nice. It really felt comfortable just walking in the door. Our server's name was Lizzie. I don't know if that was Elizabeth or what but she was really comfortable and easy to talk to. Did not for one moment seem like it was an inconvenience for her to talk to us about the menu. It really felt comfortable as we were going through the menu talking about the selections. I told her that I had not been to this establishment before and I'm not that familiar with the Creole Cajun and all that "stuff". I asked Lizzie if she would do me a favor and order for me in such a way that as a first timer at the establishment. I would get a really good look at the different types of food that they offered so she gladly agreed to do so and ordered me a combo with a selection of well...... Basically everything that was on my plate was delicious and for as much food as it was. I can't believe I ate it all but I did. One of my colleagues from work was with me. He took me there and my friend Chris. He knew exactly what he was getting and he knew that it would be so much that he could take half of it home. I asked if they had hot tea and she brought me steaming hot water and a selection of different flavors to choose from and therefore I did. So it's not five star like polished silverware and fine wine and stuff like that. But it was five star based on the criteria. The atmosphere was great. The food was delicious. The service was top notch. It was excellent and I would encourage anybody to go there at any time. I just love it when you have a small business that's doing so well, and I mean top notch so well,...
Read moreWithin the last hour I attempted to eat dinner with my father at this restaurant. Before I could start eating my meal the waitress brought a cravat of tea and a glass of beer for us to drink with our meal. She accidently spilled half of the cravat of tea in my lap soaking my pants and filling my shoes with ice cold tea. She apologized for her actions and cleaned up the mess she had made.
I went outside to collect my thoughts and so I wasn't rude with the waitress who had given me a ice tea shower. When I returned the waitress offered to remake my meal but I told her no because I was no longer in a mood to eat. My shoes were full of tea and my crouch was soaked.
I sat and stewed while my father ate his meal. Our waitress never returned to check on us and the restaurant manager never gave me the courtesy of talking to me about what had happened.
I just wanted to get out of there so I went out to my car while my father went to the bar to pay our bill that had never supplied by our waitress.
They charged for the meal I never ate and the beer I never drank and I have a pair of suede Nike tennis shoes that are ruined.
When we got home my father called and asked to talk to the manager and was told that the manager would not be in until some time next week and that they may return his call by Tuesday of next week.
If you like poor service, being charged for a meal you didn't eat, and having to replace shoes that cost more than your meal this is the...
Read moreThe server was friendly and happy to explain the items on the menu, but she was kind of in the weeds. Things took a bit and I had to ask for my drink a second time, but it was fine because I could tell the server was busy. The catfish, hush puppies and sauces were very good, and would warrant future visits. The bread pudding was okay. However, I was given grief for using a Local Flavor deal. I used less than the $30 that I had access to and the server said I had to spend at least $50. This was not on the terms, so when they asked to take my phone to the manager, I asked that the phone stayed with me and the manager could come look at it. The manager eventually said I had to spend $30, which was better, but I'm not quite sure why that makes sense, right? I understand having to spend a certain dollar amount to be eligible to use a coupon, but this wasn't a coupon. This is essentially a voucher that I spent money on. Wouldn't they be happy that I spent less than they were obligated to give me? Well, I originally had a 35% tip on the pre-discounted balance on the table because they initially did not charge me for my soda... I told them to charge the soda to bump me over the $30. But in this process, a lot of time passed by, that tip shrank to 23%, and I will not...
