Did you know inside of Bak & Jo in Mesa there is a vegan and gluten free baker??? Sweet Simon Cakes is the name. In the case daily, they have mini cakes called Bento cakes (chocolate and vanilla with sprinkles, perfect for the last minute I need a cake 😉), single cupcakes and huge cookie sandwhich - ALL VEGAN & GF !!! You can also call ahead and request something custom. Now IMO the frosting is on the sweet side BUT I also mostly eat unrefined sweetened foods and lightly sweetened drinks as well but the flavors are there and most people have that sweet tooth so it won’t be too much for those types 😂

Yesterday we finally made it to Bak & Jo and even though they are not fully vegan they have really delicious breakfast/lunch options as well that also include gluten free options. Honestly probably one of the best tasting breakfast burritos I’ve had (requested to be made on a gluten free wrap), just notify if you have an intolerance or allergy. Also devoured by my 7 year old who is just as a foodie as I am.

The staff is really friendly and informative as to what was vegan and what was not.

I honestly can’t wait to try more drinks, treats and the best breakfast burrito ever.

Tried it out! I don't think I'll be coming back for the coffee. I bought two different drinks to test/try for my first visit, and after I tried, one realized it had like- a sort of aftertaste to it. I thought it was just me, but my mom said the same thing without me having to bring anything up. So we tried both and agreed both had sort of, I guess, how a grill smells aftertaste to them. It wasn't a very pleasant background flavor for the coffee, regardless. Maybe something used in making the coffee needed to be deep cleaned or something. HOWEVER, I also bought a macaron, which was so damn good. And the breakfast crossiants? They were amazing, and definitely will be coming back for more of those. Especially enjoyed the side sauce they give you with them, which I believe is a Chipotle mayo of sorts. There is a wait time for food, which I'm assuming cause they make everything fresh (which I'm okay with since it wasn't too long and again because the food was so good). So I'll will be looking forward to the online ordering coming some time like it says on their website. But it's definitely a comeback to...

The service here was probably one of the best I have ever experienced. The owners of this place are so so kind. Instead of calling out our order like most places do, they served us our drink and food. Then they checked up on us to see if we were satisfied with our drink. They offered to adjust the sweetness levels as well which was very much appreciated! I ordered a matcha latte and a matcha white chocolate cookie. The matcha latte was rich and high quality. It didn’t taste watered down like other matcha drinks at other cafes do. You can definitely tell they use ceremonial grade matcha. And the price is totally worth it too!! This is around the same price as a Starbucks matcha drink but Bak Jo has better tasting matcha and a larger size! I usually don’t leave reviews but this place deserves five stars!! I am definitely...
