Kids Empire Mesa — Attraction in Mesa

Kids Empire in GILBERT is under new management… They went from 5 stars to NO stars. I came in with my 4 kiddos to have them play. I have been there 10 times never spending less than $200. I brought my sister and 2 teenagers. I’m a disabled Veteran and my sister has MS. We can not assist our toddlers to 6 year olds in the play place if need be. In the past they always allowed my teenagers to go in and retrieve them or help them. Now they charge for my teenagers! They are not there to play for 4 hours only help why would I pay when it’s a free adult that can play per child and I’m not able to play??? The manager had no empathy. She said your teenagers can sit in the waiting area by the register but not wait with you at the tables! Yet they let adults go in for free and play for free??? She refused to give me her name. Was rude and told me we can leave if we don’t like the new policy condescendingly. I was not going to ruin my kids fun time or day so I paid over $170 dollars. Said manager walks around pointing at us and laughing and making fun of the situation to every member of her staff. I then got ahold of a manager and the district manager from the PHX location. I asked why would an officer of the law have to give me his name and badge number but an employee at a place that’s recording me and has my alias, my address and kids names and birthdates and access to my debit information not have to provide me with a name. The manager apologized and said every employee should have a name tag and lanyard on and no one had either on. My sister asked two staff employees for there managers name and they told her she told us not to give it to you and not to give you ours. The district manager apologized again. I took a picture of the manager that refused to give me her name so that I could show the district manager. No further pictures were taken because the district manager said everything is recorded. I write a bad review and one hour later the manager walks up to me and my sister sitting down with her 4 teenage staff members behind her and says if we do not stop harassing her and her staff we have to leave. I proceed to say play times from 10 am to 10pm give me money back and I will. She refuses. I explain sweetheart I spoke to you at the register and never again. Your district manager asked for a photo since you wrongfully refused me your name. You are now harassing me and my sister walk away. She like a broken record for 3 minutes as if a robot was stuck on stupid says… Keep harassing us you’ll have to leave. Keep harassing us you’ll have to leave…on repeat it was creepy. I said walk away repeatedly your harassing me sweet heart. She walks away and yells… I’m getting security. I said please do. I proceeded to call the district manager again to explain the ongoing issue. Miss no name, big ego, should not be working in a family play place, with her no management skills whatsoever disappeared… 4 hours before her shift was over. I managed retail teens for a decade and served in the USN. I should know who is qualified and a sad excuse. Guess who never came? Security because we did nothing wrong. This place will hire anybody. Especially hooligan kids and give them management titles they didn’t ears and who teenager who think they can intimidate war veterans lmao… Disgusting behavior. Threatening to have people removed and end kids play over your ego is ridiculous! The bathrooms were dirty, most the staff sat behind the counter and barely worked. Got to the Mesa or PHX location. So for anybody 10 years and under this place is pretty neat. The kids really enjoyed it and that’s really all that mattered to me. Overall, I believe I paid $50 and change for three kids and for one adult, which was me just so that I can be around to supervise. One of the cool features I like was that they have a locked gate so none of my little rascals could escape in case I lost track of one of them. I know that would probably be my fault, but it’s helpful when it’s just me and I gotta watch three of them all different ages running around.

I didn’t do any parties or anything like that so I can’t honestly say how well the staff was when it comes to parties and events like that so I can’t give them five stars without experiencing all of the services,, they don’t allow outside food or drink so I would imagine being able to bring your own food for parties wouldn’t be possible without some type of written exception , which again would probably knock off a star, this place is card only no cash. I have read that they used to offer that before, but now they don’t. I run a business myself so card cash, check. Whatever makes it easier for folks to be able to get in here. They do have lockers so you can store your shoes, and they don’t require you to buy their brand socks, you can actually wear your own as long as they’re not grippy socks. The great thing is the all day access. If I decide to leave at any point and go grab some food and then bring the kids back. I still have access all day. That is great. For that I give them four stars. I’ll definitely be coming back when I need to entertain the kids more and maybe one day we’ll have a birthday party here And I can experience the rest of...

I do not recommend having a birthday party here. At first it looks appealing but they did a horrible job. Just to mention a few things that went wrong

Our host was MIA most of the party. Our pizza was forgotten and left in the back room while everyone else was eating theirs it wasn’t until I went up and asked that they even discovered it was in the back room. They gave the cake I made for my daughter to another party. They proceeded to put their candles in my cake. This was only caught because I heard them singing happy birthday to the little girl and looked over and saw them with my cake. I had to quickly go over and get my cake from them. If they would have been located in another part of the building I would not have seen and they would have cut into my cake and my daughter would not have had one. The other party had no idea what was going on they just said oh sorry our host gave us the cake we thought it was an extra cake Kids Empire was giving them. We did not get any candy that was supposed to be included with the package. Manager did not offer us anything to make up for the horrible experience other then give us some extra token. The tokens can be used to ride the little cars under the maze and costs them nothing . She said that’s all that she can do.

I paid over $300 to have her party there and it was nothing but stressful. When I contacted corporate to see if they could do anything for me they were horrible to contact. Once I did get a hold of someone on an online chat all they said it that they will talk to the employees at the site and that was it. They did not even offer an apology or anything.
