Pollos La Chuya — Restaurant in Mesa

I found this place while I was looking for another restaurant. Completely by surprise. I decided to stop and check this place out. I’m always excited for a restaurant. I have never tried serving food that I love. Tacos Al carbon. Walking in it’s a small little corner restaurant. But right away I can smell the food. Reminds me of home. I ordered two Carne Asada tacos on flour tortilla and two Carne Asada tacos on corn tortilla. Always gotta try the corn tortillas. I also got curious and wanted to try the chipotle chicken burrito.

I did not stay any. I took it to go. The tacos are big restaurant style not street style. But they taste like street style tacos. That al carbon flavor is right there!!! The meat was cooked well and seasoned to perfection. I easily scarfed away those four tacos. The burrito itself is pretty delicious. There’s chicken beans and rice with fresh pico inside. Very low grade grilled food. The grill is misleading . Pollo loco knock off. Chicken was dry bland, steak was ok a bit chewy . The condiments do not go with the dishes. Rice was a off pink no flavor, the beans ok,tortillas were as cheap as can be . Pink onions gross how about just some raw onions and cilantro with some salsa. Actual salsa not a bunch of ingredients thrown in a blender would be amazing. Guacamole is avocados and tomatoes with onions and spices. Here its a whole bunch of tomatoes and onions i think and something green they think are avocados. Definitely not worth 30 dollars should have settled for burger and fries from the B K in the same parking lot... Never again !!!!! My dog and cat enjoying the food is the only positive I can find ...... knock knock pizza is at my door good...
