Fact is this place is our favorite neighbor joint. The only question is where do I begin with my rave?
I am going to choose to start at CLEANLINESS because the place is 100% immaculate and the tables are wide open, comfy, spacious and in no way do you feel like you are right on top of each other. I bring up cleanliness first because there is a very very well known crab joint right across the street that historically has gotten all the seafood attention here in Arizona, but at the same time they are constantly finding themselves on the naughty list with the health inspector. To be frank, that other place is gross. NOT HARBOR!!!!! Harbor is definitely the place that you want to go to eat seafood in a clean comfy setting.
Next up in my rave is going to be the staff. We have had the best conversations with the owner (Michael), bartenders (Abygail), "CHEF", and the wait staff. They all entertain our antics and laughter and totally let us have fun with them. That's a breathe of fresh air in today's environment.
Then there's the food and deals. We tend to be bar folks and given that Harbor is close to home we end up just sitting at the bar quite often. The warm sake flows all day and the Happy Hour bar deals are very welcome when the budget it tight. Happy Hour is 2-6 every day and all day on Sunday. It makes watching football all day Sunday hella enjoyable. (And yes they have TV's all around the bar and restaurant for easy viewing.) We haven't ventured too far into the menu yet BUT I can say the miso soup is on point and the sushi rolls are super freshy fresh and delicious.
Overall whether you are looking for some yummy spicy seafood or just a great neighborhood bar, this place is definitely for you. AND if you prefer a great take out situation, they get job done too. Order online (use their website instead of DoorDash for better deals) and they have a designated area for pickups. Quick and Easy!!!!
Lastly, don't forget to check out the many specials they have...BOGO beer and FREE pounds of seafood when you spend a certain amount. You just...
Read moreCame here to try HSCH as a coworker suggested. My first time here on a Wednesday night. I tried the chicken egg roll and a bowl of New England clam chowder. For my entree I went with the Dungeness crab (1lb) and green mussels (1/2lb) in a garlic butter sauce; mild spice 🌶️ seasoning with a nob of corn and a red potato. The soup and egg roll came first; and very soon after the bag with crab and mussels. The soup was good. Very hot, and slightly thinner consistency than the clam chowders I’m use to. It came with saltine crackers instead of the usual oyster crackers. When I got to the egg roll it was still warm. The sauce was very cold, and that I had found strange. It detracted from the egg roll as it was very bright red, sweet, and cold. The entree was good. It had a lot of minced garlic that found its way into the shells of the green mussels. I had to shake off some of the garlic. The mussels were big, and tender for the most part. There were seven, and only one was a bit chewy. The crab was nice, and tender. As was the corn and potato. Generous portions left me taking leftovers home with me. It wasn’t very busy on this night. Service was fine, and personable. My thanks to Sophia for helping me with my order. The restaurant has plenty of seating. The bathrooms are clean. As for parking, there’s adequate parking spaces. I know I gave this restaurant a 3 ✨ rating. It was very close to being a 4. Too much garlic was the reason. Be careful when ordering food with garlic. It’s the minced kind from a jar; not freshly minced garlic. Huge difference as the same goes for fresh herbs and spices vs herbs and spices...
Read moreI don’t know who’s reviewing this it must be their friends. We go in and it was very empty. I think maybe 20 people all toll. I’ll cut to the chase. The menu was very limited so my sister and I both ordered the same thing. It was a Crawfish sandwich. The waitress brought us a rusty bucket like we were going to crack crabs with a sandwich. She barely spoken English. We had to point to things on the menu. They were out of the beer my sister wanted. And oysters. They have high prices. There’s no sides to a sandwich not even chips. So we ordered rice. First they bring out my sister rice in a foam to go container and set it in front of her and then it took like 40 minutes for us to get our food and when it comes out, it is this ice cold super skinny cut in half white bread sandwich with mostly fake crab sprinkled with one or two pieces of probably frozen crawdad. That’s it. $12 for 6 inches of super skinny fake crab meat that was put together like a kids school lunch. And then they brought me out my fried rice also in a to go container, which was so laden was soy sauce or something It was oddly dark. There was nothing flavor wise with these sandwiches. It was laughable. I’m not picky, but I wouldn’t be caught dead going back to that place. What a waste of time and money. Was so disappointed. I had been so excited to go there. Awful. I give them less than a year especially in that little tiny,...
