Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Mesa

This location was truly terrible. I have never given a 1 star rating but this place is deserving. We sat in the drive thru line for a while and the line did not move at all so we parked and went in. In the course of my near 30 minutes waiting in the lobby for ice cream I saw 6 different employees coming and going. No one knew what they were doing. Everyone was running around frantically.

The front register did not work for cards. The guy who rang me out just went and sat in the back of the store after ringing out my order and did not tell anyone about my order. I had to wait for another employee to ask me what I was waiting on. More waiting, more frantic employees running around.

The store was warm, not cool as if the a/c was not working properly and there was a foul odor in the store. I soon realized that there was a dirty mop bucket in the ice cream prep area so that is likely where the dirty old gym socks smell was coming from. To add to the terrible ambiance, the sound system in the store was blaring unedited Sirius XM music.

The only competent worker it seems was a young man with braces and curly hair. He was the one who finally prepared and gave me my order. Although the blizzard was half melted by the time I received it I was at least getting something for the money I had already paid.

Why didn't I just ask for my money back? If I had an ounce of faith that they would be able to accomplish putting money back on my card and in a timely fashion or if I could have gotten one of them to stop and acknowledge me... maybe I would have. Worst Dairy Queen restaurant I've been to as far as service goes. ( In my top two worst fast food locations) No matter what I have ordered at the restaurant with no fail they will tell me to pull forward to wait for them to bring me my food. I dread hearing that every time I go to this location. It's always teenagers who have no customer service and never care to work quickly to get your food out or correct. Every time I've ordered here recently there's been something wrong with my order and I don't realize until I get all the way home. They have forgotten to give me gravy with the chicken tenders basket the last two times I went, never cut their toast at this location because they are lazy, and almost always forget part of your order. Even when I ask for sauce specifically they forget it at times. I have been to this location a few times where they are just completely out of items as well. Sitting here grabbing a late lunch and got a homeless guy inside asking people for their food we u tell him that u not gonna give him your kids food he laughs and sits next both over watching us the whole time eventually he decides to search the trash can and pulls food from trash can and start chowing down! I got to notify the cashier that the gentle is asking other customers for their food and eating food out of the trash pointing the guy out and the cashier had no response but to look to see who it was and say ok im like its not good customer service to leave people inside dairy queen eating out of the trash cans and cashier looked at me like he was confused on why i would say something!!
