I don't know what's going on with restaurants nowadays. They're charging almost twice what they did before Covid-19, and you don't even get a refill on your coffee. Yet they expect at least an 18% tip, which I usually give 20% or better. đ¤ The $30 to $50 price includes an 18% tip.
Since restaurants have almost doubled their prices, provide less and sometimes not as good of a meal, plus in some cases the service is poor and even bad at times. I am going to return to the way we used to tip our server. If they don't offer to refill coffee or other fountain drink, 10 to 15 percent, depending on the rest of the service. If the food is cold or has no too little taste, 10% max, since most of the time it's as if they could care less about my satisfaction so why should I care if they go home with an extra 5 dollars or not.
I truly hate being this way, but when 2 people go to breakfast at Denny's, and the bill is $50 and change, and you don't even get offered a refill of a $4.49 cup of coffee, then it's time to start showing your dissatisfaction.
I swear, if there's ever another crisis like Covid-19 again, I will not order out just to help any restaurant stay afloat because they are now showing their application by charging the same as they did during Covid-19 or more, and providing even less service than ever before. While we're making may 10% if that more than we did before Covid-19.
Please, if you receive the same kind of service or are feeling, these lower end restaurants are charging way more than the increased cost of doing business, and the servers are cutting back on the service then join me in letting these restaurant know the way we used to let them know, by withholding some if not the...
Read moreToday we went to the diner, they have ALWAYS been slow but today was exceptional. Walked in, looked like a manager walked by us said welcome to Denny's and went over to sit down with another person in a closed of room. We stood in the entrance for over 1.5 minutes waiting. The manager person did not bother but saw us standing there all the time. Finally another person also dressed in regular cloths and nothing indicating Denny's came over not one word about our wait and asked how many. 4 People I said and she started walking towards a table.Gave us the menus and walked away said I will be right back. I KID YOU NOT!, we sat there for OVER 5 minutes no kidding! until the same person came back and asked what we would like to drink. We ordered at the same time and asked if we could get the drinks asap as we were not offered drinks or even water on being seated. 8 min. and I believe 24 seconds passed when they returned with the drinks. Took a good 20 min. to get the food by the way. Don't even assume the waitresses will check to see if you need a refill because we had to remind them of the refill they were going to bring us which they forgot. I usually do not write reviews but this was just utter ridiculousness. What beats me is not one single time (except for the waitress who was actually wearing a Denny's shirt) did anyone apologize for the long wait times and forgetfulness. To top it off THERE WAS NOT THAT MUCH PEOPLE THERE!!! 5 tables occupied and I believe 3 people at the server dish table/bar desk. I know every single Denny's I have ever been to is slow but yeah this took the golden ticket of "We just don't care a rat's @#$@#$ about our customers at this location"! Thank you for...
Read moreI've came here for years and the service here has gone down alot. I just asked for bill paid and walked out after having cold hash browns, dirty silverware, an tiny portion of hashbrowns. I'm glad I didn't order what i was going to. I gad a feeling and wanted to see the quality of the food before spending a money on a big meal. My kid wouldn't even eat his food. He said it was yucky and wouldn't eat it. And I actually agree with him. Hashbrowns were also burnt and tasted like they had been sitting on the grill for awhile. We got there, ordered, and not even 3 mins later we had our burnt cold hashbrowns and soggy biscuits. Gravy tasted fine. That's about all. The manager didn't care. All she said was the plates were clear when they put the food on them(I didn't say anything about the food sitting on the plates.) I have been coming here for 15 years and this is the last time we will. The quality has declined, and they are not making any attempt to make it better. This is 3rd time in the past year we've came here and every time is worse then the time before. I really used to enjoy coming here too. The best part of the meal was the 3.69$ cup of coffee. Anyone wanting good food, it's gonna be hit or miss for you. I have friends that have had similar experiences here. I'm now on my way somewhere else to buy another meal. Place was horrible, food was garbage, and the manager was just wanting the money. And made zero attempt to try and make anything right. I hope anyone reading this takes their hard earned money...
