El Metate Mexican Food — Restaurant in Mesa

Came in at around lunch time to find the restaurant petty full the tables that were open were dirty. I asked what was on the supreme quesadilla. I was told meat cheese sour cream and guacamole. So I order it along with a carne asada burrito . It comes out with no meat. Beans only. My girlfriend goes and tells them she is unsatisfied they say sorry it doesn't come with meat. That is an extra charge. She comes back to the table unhappy so i took the quesadilla back to the counter. Explained again. They said I must have misheard her. I explain we would not have ordered this item. I ask them to re make it. They simply say NO. SO I REQUESTED A REFUND. They did give me my money back. But in truth I should have returned the rest of the food to so I wasn't continuing to support their wrong choice not to keep the money and not just re make the item to make their customer happy. But since there was a subway next door I sent my girlfriend to get a sandwich. I wasn't trying to get something for free. Just what i went in there to order. They are unwilling to resolve my issue and created an uncomfortable bad customer experience... I will not return I would suggest the same of others. for all the MENUDO LOVERS, you have to stop eat this place. EL METATE MEXICAN FOOD..I was visiting MESA and stop there because I was in mood for real Mexican food in the middle of the week...went inside and saw they selling MEDUDO.. MENUDO is only serve and sold on WEEKEND... I ask the worker how was the menudo. SKEPTICAL I was , the worker said it was fresh and very delicious.. I took my chances because the majority of time I have eating MENUDO is average with bad meat. and you have to eat very early in morning to get fresh meat/

when I got my plate and put all the servings, It look fresh cook and the MEAT was fresh and great. not the second grade meat the other menudo places give you. did I mention it was like3 oclock in the middle of week. and also had some chicken tacos very good too. prices very reasonable.. and is only like 10 minutes from POWERS ROAD and highway... on main street next to subway.. 👍 El Metate Mexican Food on 6140 E. Main St. in Mesa AZ. I didn't know this place existed. I pulled in and ordered from the drive-through. I was pleasantly surprised that the wait time was short from the time I placed the order to paying and picking up my food. There were 2 cars in front of me. I ordered the 3 rolled beef tacos with cheese and guacamole. The tacos were deep fried to perfection! But wait...the best part was the shredded cheese & guacamole piled high on each taco. This serving size with no other side items made a perfect meal to go. I'd like to suggest that the windows/wall on the side where the speaker to order is located have the same signs showing the great specials posted on the side of the building where we pay & pick up our food. Well, I'll be back to try other items on the menu. I may go inside next visit when I have more time. By the way, the woman at the drive up window was kind and had a great smile....
