If curious about how good the food is here, or what the wait staff is like, one need only read through around 30% of the reviews here, & a pattern begins to emerge, suggesting that the consensus among the regulars and new patrons alike is, quite obviously, one of satisfaction & content. That being said, a majority of the negative "1 star" reviews seem, at least to this reviewer, that perhaps most of these folks had some other unfortunate issues going on in their lives at the time, that were causing so much pain & turmoil, that it was just not possible for them to give an unbiased account of their experiences. When a very large majority of reviews are positive, and then one reviewer basically accuses a server of fudging the food item prices on the bill, just so that server could "pocket" a few extra quarters, or even a dollar or two(which did occur in one of the reviews here), the reader MUST look at the information with an objective eye, and common sense should easily prevail, making it blatantly obvious that the writer of said negative review, truly did have a bit too much on their mind, causing them to not be very objective, if even at all. My advice to those contemplating giving this gem of a cafe a try, but are just not sure if they should, is that in certain instances, when one is stuck on the "fence", one needs to throw caution to the wind at times, and just go for it. For if we all just ignore the decisions in life that are always presenting themselves, and seem to do so in substantial quantities, our lives would be so incredibly boring, and we would certainly be one very unhappy lot. So, I say, give this place a shot, and I'm sure you'll be glad you did. And in the off chance that you aren't satisfied, at least you tried it, and it will be up to you at that point, whether you give the Two Seasons Cafe, & their staff, the benefit of the doubt(who knows what was going on in any of their lives that day)and decide to give them another shot, or you just "one & done" them, and never go back, which I don't think that...
Read moreLet me be clear, I don't want to be "that guy," or that "Karen," posting scathing reviews on the internet. However, I will only post the truth about my experiences. Take it with a grain of salt, but I have no reason to fabricate an experience just so the business owner can thank me and give gratitude or whatnot.
Service- Oh, she was very prompt. However, it did feel rushed. Something my partner resents doing whenever we are at any restaurant is asking for more coffee/refill on his drink. Quite frankly, I agree with him. It should be the server's job to be aware of drinks being low or coffee being topped off.
Setting- It looks dated. I understand that was the theme and the image that's supposed to be portrayed. However, it was a major flop because the dining room still looked dirty and the bathrooms were horrendous. The men's bathroom had no hand soap and was low on paper towels. The women's bathroom reminded me of a gas station on a rough part of town. That bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in forever, let alone upgraded.
Lack of accuracy/awareness- I clearly asked for over easy eggs. They were scrambled. I let it slide because I took a few bites and noticed the error. That was on both of us. However, our ketchup on the table was not full and it felt like no one dared to ask or even check the table setup before seating the guests. The table was clean and so was the booth seats, mind you; but the empty ketchup bottle was a rookie mistake, if you will.
Definitely not returning here and sticking to our usual...
Read moreThe Two Seasons Café is located on the north side of Main Street in Mesa about a quarter mile west of Power Road. Look for a plain brown building with large red 'CAFÉ' letters. It is sort of a neighborhood place where like in 'Cheers' - "everyone knows your name...". Everything is home made from scratch. Soups are thick with meat and vegetables and are more like a stew than a soup. Pies are awesome but you need to get there by Thursday as they are mostly gone. I hadn't had Rhubarb pie in 20 years as my mother used to make it. There is just like hers and a whole pie is about 5 lbs (pictured below I bought one - Kathy is holding it) - you can purchase the whole pie if available like I did. Breakfasts are their specialty. They also have a fish fry on Fridays which is the best I've had. It is not AYCE but they give you 3 large pieces which most people including me cannot finish in one sitting. If you go please say hello to the owner Brenda and their best server Kathy. Prices very reasonable. They are a well deserved 5 star. If there is one negative comment - they only do breakfast and lunch - closing @2pm. It would be great if a few nights they were open evenings for dinner. Enjoy! Lastly I read some of the
