Hiatus on Main — Restaurant in Mesa

New owners basically gutted R&R Sticks, new plaster, paint, floors & countertops so that's a plus, service was ok, zero attempt from bartender at engaging conversation nor welcoming us. Apparently someone left behind bar price lists because drink prices suck! $4.25 for bud bottle during "HAPPY HOUR" sadly, came to see, we saw, wont be back. 3 other people in bar entire 2 hours we were there and seems you're either local day drinker or not really welcomed there. Giving benefit of the doubt, only reopened 2 weeks ago, see if anything changes in next few months or if still open by end of the year. Otherwise, should've kept it "as was" would've saved pile of money not remodeling and AZ BEST dive bar from hell would still be a great place to take people who've never been, visitors from out of state etc. UPDATE been few months new bartenders adding entertainment and developing a great clientle of local people who are...

100% stay away! Someone tried to break into my truck here last Friday. I’m a temporary local (RVing it). I arrived about midnight and hung out until 1:45, then when I left I found my tailgate popped open (yes, it locks with the doors), and a beer bottle directly in front of my tire. I’m a temporary local, and I do not mess around. I Guess they either confused me for someone else they had beef with, or they were just angry they weren’t able to steal anything. Went there for my first time June 1st. My mom went to the icu and I needed a distraction. First I tried the sports bar on power rd but the service sucked. Then I found this gem. The bartenders were nice. Took the time to ask people how they were doing, refilled drinks fast. The smoking patio was enough room and not crowded. Great dive bar.
