New China Restaurant — Restaurant in Mesa

I would really like to give more than 3 stars but there were some key factors that decided it may have deserved even less. First of all, the food was actually pretty decent. We ordered the family deal, the cashew chicken was great. The orange chicken was pretty good too, maybe a little soggy but good flavor. The sweet and sour was pretty basic and what you would expect. The pork lo mein was definitely the highlight of the meal. However, the overall cleanliness was quite bothersome. I'm not sure the soda machine has ever been cleaned. The sodas didn't even taste like the normal flavors it was so bad. There was some part of a rice cooker next to soda machine with old crusty rice on it and the rice cooker wasn't even in that area. One thing that really bothered me was the fact that I didnt see a health inspection card on the window or any where for that matter. I would be very interested to see how they would grade. In general, it was just not clean, I'll leave it at that. They're not equipped very well for dine-in, which is fine. I just think it would better suite them to state they are take-out only for now. It was very hot and uncomfortable and the overall environment was just not ideal. I wish the place was better kept because the food was good. I would go back if it felt...

I started ordering from this place last year sometime and at first it was pretty good . I wish they wouldn't advertise ny style though because a place like this wouldn't last 15 minutes in NY. I only order like ones a month on a Friday usually late nights but it seems regardless of when I call im treated like my call was an inconvenience to the btch taking the order . They often don't bring my house mustard and chopsticks that I order every time . The lo mein isn't to bad but the rest of the menu is hit or miss . Look I'm a biased opinion I grew up in NY where the Chinese food is better then China , so I don't expect much out here in AZ as I haven't been to a "good" Chinese food joint out here outside of a gourmet Scottsdale joint that cost my first born child on top of the arm and leg. I would say if your standards aren't to high and you're hungry for something other then pizza or a burger feel free to try this place but don't expect good service or great food you will only be let down . Go into it expecting the order taker to be a rude btch, and a 50-50 shot they might mess up your order and 100% probability your gonna eat the food and say " it was ok I kinda like this but I didn't like that " it's gonna happen you've been...

Today I decided I was going to give this place a try. We normally order from a different place that we love but they don't deliver, so I thought I'd give them a fair shot. I called to place my order, the woman answered and spoke so fast that all I could make out was "hold please". So I said ok. I waited on the phone that wasn't actually 'on hold', it was just set down, unmuted. I proceeded to wait, hearing noises in the background, I thought maybe I had the wrong number because I heard lots of kids yelling (5 minutes into hold) so I switch to Google and look up the place to see the reviews. Not horrible, but def not great and too many reviews stating it's more like a daycare inside the location than a restaurant. No big deal, I'm not eating in. I wait, and wait....and wait some more. I'm now almost 15 minutes into holding and no one has come back to the phone. I understand being busy but this was ridiculous. Finally, I decided to hang up. I tried, they failed to come back to the phone and now have lost my business. It's not that bad though because there are plenty of other options around that are also family owned and actually want...
