It is a Monday night and I called to order so my husband could just pick up dinner on his way home after his long work day. The phone rang AT LEAST 50 TIMES before someone answered with an indistinguishable mumble. I asked if I had called Native Grill & Wings and she said yes and then I verified the location before letting her know I would like to place an order for pickup. She kind of asked me what I wanted, though she somehow sounded both bored and bothered at the same time. I told her the first item and she immediately said, "is that it?" at which time I gave her the rest of my order. After ordering multiple types of wings, a specialized salad and mozzarella sticks, she told me it would be ready in 25 - 30 minutes and hung up. She did not repeat my order to me nor did she give me a total. I sent my hubby a quick text with what I had ordered and asked him to please make sure the order was correct before leaving because the phone interaction was sketchy and I didn't feel confident that the person I spoke with would correctly process the order. When my husband arrived to pick up the food, lo and behold, the order had not even been placed because the person who was so burdoned to answer the phone had apparently dropped the order ticket on the floor so no one saw it until my husband arrived and they started searching for it. So he then had to sit there and wait for the entire order to be made. Then, on his way out, he realized that they had forgotten the mozzarella sticks and had to go back in to get them, and when he finally got home, we found that they had also failed to give him the salad dressing for his salad. Although the people he dealt with at the location were pleasant enough, the whole experience was ruined because of one employee who clearly has no business working in any type of customer service environment. Maybe she is the relative of a big wig, a server waiting tables, or maybe she just doesn't like answering the phone, but regardless of her reason for being so unpleasant and then unable to get the order placed, we will now only go to the Native on Broadway in Tempe or on Ray in Ahwatukee. We have had other issues with this location (such as them closing early even after I called that same evening to ask what time they closed and also forgetting items in our order), but when I feel like I am imposing just because I called them to order and then the order gets lost on the floor somewhere, I don't think this location deserves our business. Unfortunately, the obviously unhappy employee who could not be bothered to make sure my order was placed after enduring the seemingly painful task of taking a phone order from a customer will probably lose nothing except an annoying task (answering the phone) that doesn't directly benefit her anyway by us taking our business elsewhere, even though she is our primary reason for doing so. All I can do is suggest that this Native not retain employees who so clearly abhor customer interaction because they may find that they no longer have any customers to lose. On a positive note, the food...
Read moreThis used to be a place I was not only proud to work at but loved to go to and eat the food. The GM Kevin has clearly become complacent and refuses to do his job as he should. He will let people like Travis who he refers to as his " son" slack on countless responsibilities like closing procedures and as Kevin would say " being a role model by his behavior." He has also made it very clear that he doesn't value hard work, determination and employees who will countlessly go above and beyond to do anything they can just to get treated less then and like an outcast. I do recall going to Kevin and repeating some of the hurtful slander spoken about me by other members of the team and he said " get over, learn to make it work."There was a previous review posted that was negative about a specific employee Haylee and for some reason the General manager (Kevin) decided by hear say that I was to blame and I was "starting drama." Even though I had no previous relationship with this customer she had just simply added me on Facebook. I have also countless time gone to the managers about things that should be cleaned and things that weren't getting done and Kevin response was simply " I am tired of telling people what to do." So apparently it doesn't matter if we don't wash out salt and pepper shakers for months at a time or clean the bars and bar taps correctly. Or when a cooler goes out over night with fresh fruit and juice that haven't been to temp for well over 12 ..... do we shrink them NOPE. We put them in the walk in to cool them down. Yet I the night previous had told Kevin's son Travis about the cooler being out but it must have slipped his mind. There are so so many more things I could go on about like how kitchen staff hardly wear gloves and will be on there phones while working. Which of you didn't know a cell phone holds more germs then a toilet seat normally. Ahhh and you ask why I am writing this review because this native used to be a wonderful location were I was proud to work and so many others. But I'm tired and being put down and getting fired for simply attempting to do my job. So maybe this is vengeful but the customers deserve to know what's really going on.
And hopefully with the new owner who is actually an awesome worker can get rid of Kevin and Ben. Find people who can handle the stress and not give up and throw in the towel.
And for the other awesome employees hopefully they move on to bigger and better things because as long as Kevin is the GM only his "clique" will go anywhere.
Thank you so much for firing me Kevin it was a blessing in disguise. Only...
Read moreWent to have a late lunch with my son and husband. Not only was the customer service horrible, but the wait staff was rude and the food was horrible. I ordered a salad a certain way and was asked if I wanted it out before the rest of my food. First of all it came out 20 minutes later because the server forgot that the chicken takes long he said, then it didn’t even come as I ordered it, I asked for no croutons and mozzarella instead of parm. I got both of what I asked to not have included but no mozzarella! I told my server and all I was told was, my bad I can take it away and remove it from your Bill….nah bro I ordered a salad because I wanted a salad but sure, he didn’t even want to remake it. THEN my husband ordered wings, which happened to have feathers on them. My husband showed them to the server because he initially thought they had hair on them. The server took them after and then brought the same wings back and said that’s how we serve them and that’s why I’m bringing them back. I literally said, wait…you serve wings knowing they have feathers and still serve them? He said yes that’s how they get served and that’s how I’m bringing them. He then said I’ll go have new ones made but they might have feathers too! Really??? Needless to say we will not be back EVER and I will not recommend this place...
