Since my family is completely vaccinated and it is Mother’s Day weekend, we decided that with proper precautions, our party of 7 and a toddler out for dinner at a small business or family owned restaurant that was in-between the homes of those who attended. I based it upon reviews. It is in a strip mall with relatively few open businesses and is unassuming. That said, up and just glancing through the window I could immediately see that tile work all throughout the that immediately reminded me of some of unassuming tucked-away restaurants I have enjoyed over the years during my travels to Mexican destinations. The home-y aroma of authentic Mexican cuisine becomes immediately unmistakable when walking in. We were seated quickly. The staff was very helpful, kind considerate and attentive. I always appreciate extraordinary restaurant staff that is tasked with dealing with my family. We can be loud speakers, and we love to have discussions about everything and anything when we are together. After a year of choosing to avoid eat-in dining almost entirely, our discussions were even more more than usual. The waitress was so sweet and patient with us. The Mexican cuisine was what I believe is the best Mexican cuisine I have experienced since I moved to Arizona in 1998. My tortilla soup was delicious. The Chicken Mango Salad had the the most delightful caramelized onions that I could have seriously eaten an entire salad bowl’s worth of alone. My family ate a variety of their menu selection. Each seemed to have enjoyed their dishes and had plenty to enjoy for lunch today. If they will have us back, I will gladly drive my from the far East Valley for the privilege of enjoying Rosa’s authentic...
Read moreSadly I have to admit I would not eat here again, my sister and I were down the street at an attorney's office and he suggested this place because it was close.... Though the wait staff was nice, the food was very bland and not at all what I would consider really good Mexican food... To be honest I almost would rather eat at Taco Bell... And that's one of the last fast food places I'll go to these days.... The hot sauce was not hot it was sweet more than anything, when I asked for hot sauce I got something that my sister said tasted Smokey with the spice hitting at the end but for me it tasted more like marinara sauce with a kick in it.... My iced tea was good... My sister ordered a chimichanga which was a nice size I don't know what it tastes like she ended up taking it home because she was full after we ate the cheese crisp which was probably the best part of the whole meal, I ordered Pollo fundido and the only other place I've had it is that someburros which is their specialty and I was expecting pretty much the same thing but what I got was what seemed like chicken fillets that had been taken out of a package from a freezer and cooked with a whole bunch of cheese on them the rice was cold and I was expecting black beans with it but instead got corn with peppers and onions in it, which I'm not a big fan of... Just give me plain corn if you're going to give me corn... Anyways for what it's worth as I stated in the beginning the staff is nice though the service is a little bit slow, but the food is nothing...
Read moreThis was our second time there. The first time things went good. People interacted with us just fine. This time things were different. Went for an early lunch. I saw a couple people in a booth on the other side, other than that my mom and I were the only ones there. Sat a table that was wobly. My mom asked if we could move to a different table. Waiter said all the tables are the same because I of the tile. So I was trying to hold it with my foot. We ordered a coffee and a water with lemon. Had to ask for sugar. He brought us creamer but no spoon...so that was another two trips for him. Didn't make it past that because my cup of water was dirty. Even tho it was dirty from the outside, I still expect my dishes to be clean inside and out. It was gross seeing brown on my napkin. My mom didn't even taste the coffee before we had decided to leave. When she asked if we needed to pay for her coffee we were told yes. I told him my cup was dirty and he actually asked me if it was from the outside. WHAT DOES IT MATTER? You NEVER serve on or in a half clean dish...and if you know you sat the cup in something then wipe the darn thing down and don't be so lazy. Must've been a superior that he asked if we still needed to pay for the coffee and she said no. Told them I'd give...
