TODAY: 11/02/19. Attended event at the convention center on 10/25/19 - 10/27/19. And while I felt that the event itself was terribly disorganised, the venue is also not something unimpressive. Just using this very app (Google maps) made getting there as it switched up which parking lot it wanted to take me to depending where I was coming from. But I digress. Parking seemed decent, at least for the turnout for the event I was attending. Please note that this was the actual Mesa Convention Center Parking Lot, not the East Parking Lot or any of the nearby paid parking or even (what I was told by hotel staff) the "dirt field".

The look of the outside buildings are dated and unimpressive but well kept. The grounds are clean and also well groomed with lots of grassy areas to lounge on. The event I attended was held in buildings C & D. As far as my memory serves me, there were no automatic doors for the handicapped. The immediate inside of the buildings were just as outdated in appearance as the outside, with low ceilings and hallways that felt a bit claustrophobic. The different rooms were, once again: outdated. The actual theatre/conference room had shockingly terrible chairs (uncomfortable, maybe I was just unlucky the 3 different times I was in there but the chairs all wanted to tip me backward; I like to sit up in my chair, especially at a table, so if I'm leaning forward and the chair is leaning backward, I get no back support).

And the thing that actually bothered me the most were the handicap toilets. My companion for the event was terribly, horribly uncomfortable about having to choose which gendered bathroom to use (Mesa Convention Center: time to get on a gender-neutral bathroom along with the issue I'm about to mention). The handicap stalls in the female restrooms have those horizontal (no vertical) grab bars on the FAR walls from the toilet. I'vvvvvve... never seen this. And while I do not use a wheelchair, nor do I have any legal physical handicaps, I do suffer from pretty painful osteoarthritis in my knees & hips and very much rely on those grab bars a LOT. If you don't have any squatting problems, imagine if someone were to shove you toward the toilet, backward. You might hit the seat hard enough to to hurt. You will likely shuffle enough so that your nice clean inner thigh falls into that space in the front of the seat where all the droplets & hair gather and the inside of your pants or underwear (you know, the part that rests right up against places you want to keep clean the most) will likely end up rubbing all over the front of the outside of the bowl where all the urine runs down. Or you could curl your fingers around the toilet seat itself and lower yourself down... then grab some toilet paper, transfer all that nasty to it from your hands, then wipe it all over your sensitive bits. This is the kind of thing I run into when someone at my work is hiding in the handicap stall so they can text and I think, "Maybe this time the pain won't be bad enough to cause me to collapse," and use a standard stall. And it's the exact same scenario I was faced with any time I had to pee at the 3-day event at the Mesa Convention Center where their grab bars were 3 feet from my reach!

In closing, I hope the event organizers got a good deal renting out...

I purchased tickets to see 2 Chainz perform in Mesa, Arizona at the Mesa Amp. I should have known something was up when the location was changed at the last minute to the Mesa convention center. In addition to the small amount of people that attended the event. We were charged $10 to park in a empty lot. There was 2 sketchy staff members directing traffic into the lot or so they say they were staff members?? At the last minute the so called DJ announced that 2 Chainz would not be performing. Most of the opening entertainment performing was complete trash. It was then announced that everyone would be issued a refund which I highly doubt. So I will be contacting my credit card company to disputed this scam along with contacting Arizona’s attorney general. I would give zero stars, but you have to leave at least 1 to write a review. It’s extremely disappointing because we purchased from a legitimate site and this happens. How is this fair or even legal to false advertise and take people’s money?? In my opinion these janky promoters knew he was not going to show up well in advance. However found it appropriate to still proceed with this trash of a concert and continue to charge people for over priced drinks and food. I’m sorry but my husband and I will not fall victim to...

My friends and I had a blast at zap con at the Mesa convention center which was a three-day event. There were so many arcade games and pinball machines. We went on Sunday and the admission price for adults was $20 but there was no additional cost to play the games which was pretty cool. There was even a room set up with couches to play NES, super NES, Sega and Atari. Also there was another room where gameplay was setup on a projector and people were taking turns playing random games against each other, unfortunately only two people could play at a time but it was nice to take a break and just watch others play. They even had food trucks outside. The food was pretty tasty. I think we were at this event for a total of 5 hours possibly a...

Discovered the Mesa Convention Center during the quilters show a couple weeks back. This little gem is right in the heart of downtown Mesa, surrounded by lush landscaping and filled with rooms and rooms of possibilities. The outside of the facility doesn't prepare you for just how much space they have inside, and just when I thought I'd seen everything I was led down yet another hallway filled with beautiful and inspiring quilts! This is definitely a good venue for showing off a large amount of anything while still having the capability to host a number of smaller, separate events or shows as well.

Awesome location to host small, medium, and large events. Really enjoy the ample parking, one story buildings, and ability to have catering for breakfast, lunch, and happy hours. Look forward to coming here every year for various events and trade shows.

The convention center is very clean and very big. The bathrooms were very kept up on and that was nice. We wen to visit the reptile expo and it was so fun! They set up the place very nice and they got a lot of reptiles and animals to fit in there!
