Yesterday I was in the mood for some nice spicy Soup. I was told that this place food is amazing. I decided to go over and give it a try. Besides the Tom Yum I also had the Yellow Curry over Chicken and rice. I love yellow curry, when ever I have tried it in the past its always been nice and creamy with the right amount of spice. Not this curry. The curry as well as the soup all tasted exactly the same no different flavors the best way to describe it everything was very sweet. I asked about it while in the restaurant and no one had an explination. I would not imagine that they would have cooked up my meal with a bunch of sugar. I went home trying to enjoy my dinner, however I could not. I mean I am accustomed to flavors hot and spicey excellent ingrediants, food having its own flavors and distinctive taste. I couldn't get into the meal, so the next day I went back up there trying understand what this meal was made of. The owner asked the cook about it. I believe she knew who it was by my receipt. He said that the Yellow Curry over Chicken and rice and the Tom Yum soup are all cooked in sugar, it was disgusting. Since I was not satified with my $23.72 meal I asked if I could try the Shrimp Wonton Soup and some Egg Roles. The owner then said that they make all of their food the same and that I might not like it. I then said that all of your food is made with sugar, she did't say anything. I then said well in that case may I have my money back and the owner started yelling and screaming that she wasn't going to give me my money back and that she wasn't going to allow me to try out a different food choice. I'm not sure who this lady thought that I was but I don't just waste my money on anything. If the agreement is that the food would be spicy and flavorful then don't hand me a meal that is full of sugar and that was the only flavor that I could taste. All I have to say is be careful eating at this place if they are cooking with sugar as they explained to...
Read moreFriday night Thai-dying at its best. Don’t get me wrong, the curry was tasty but I’ve been dying with stomach pains since I ate there last night. The potstickers were dry on the outside and gross and mushy on the inside. The kids Mac and cheese was a joke. Basic boxed Mac and cheese, a side of ketchup, and a weird combo of veggies that they charge $5 for. Not worth it. Also the owner is rude and I didn’t appreciate how the fulfillment of my order was handled. I ordered online and asked that broccoli be added to my curry. When I got there and after waiting 15 minutes to be acknowledged I was told it’d be an extra $1 for the broccoli. “Yeah no problem” I told them, I understand add ins cost extra. I didn’t have cash because I paid by card and said they could add it to my card. The owner told her helper no because they wouldn’t do an additional charge for $1 (fees I guess) and right in front of me took my already made curry with the added broccoli and threw it out and made one without broccoli. Really wasteful and spiteful? 4 Florets of broccoli is that expensive that you’d waste a whole dish and make me wait for a new one? Would it really have been bad to just let me have the one prepared as asked. Between the bad service and being sick since I ate it I’m done with this place. The health department really should be called in to make sure things are...
Read moreThis Thai Eatery is one of the most fantastic Thai places we’ve encountered in the Valley in the past five years. And I have to say, there are some really good Thai places in the Valley! It apparently opened around the time my wife and I moved to the Valley, and while temporarily living in Mesa about 5 years ago discovered it, and today it’s still going strong. The eatery is not large, but quaint and comfortable, the décor is modern functional and colorful in their art and lights. In the visits we’ve had at this Fab Thai eatery, our entrée’s have included a delectable Yellow Curry with coconut milk with potato, onion, carrots with choice of meats; one of the best Pad Dek Pha Duk (Chili Catfish) ever tried – a deep fried catfish fillet, stir fried in chili, basil, onion and red curry sauce. One of the most incredible Pad Thai ever, with Rice Noodles in stir-fried eggs, bean sprouts, green onions in a slightly sweetened and spicy sauce with peanuts on the side with Red Curry Squid; a fantastic Crab Fried Rice. I highly recommend this Thai restaurant, and not just for the food (which is fantabulous) but an incredible crew from the cooks, servers and owners who take pride in what they do bringing authentic Thai...
