Twisted Pies Pizzeria — Restaurant in Mesa

This saddens me to write this review about Twisted Pie. We have been long time customers and USED to tell all our friends about this place. After speaking with Matthew we will never be returning again. Long story short we ordered a pizza thru DoorDash and the delivery driver must’ve dropped it or something because it was a mangled mess. We complained to door dash about it and sent them a picture and they refunded us the whole amount. I have met the owner on multiple occasions and he has been absolutely amazing. He has excellent customer service and is a huge reason we are such big fans of his pizza. I tried to call over last night to give them a heads up and let them know about what happened to the pizza and give them a heads up if door dash tries to screw the business over let me know I would be on their side and make sure door dash knew that this was the drivers fault and not any fault of Twisted Pie. Well this is where the story gets crazy. When I tried to call Matthew answered the phone hr then put me on hold but never hit the hold button so i waited 6 minutes on the phone listening to their conversation. Finally after they had forgotten about me I tried to call back. Same guy Matthew picks up the phone i said "did you forget about me Matthew?" he said word for word "meh, it happens." I cant lie I i was totally thrown off by his response especially because every other time we have been there the customer service was impeccable. Although every time we've been there the owner himself has taken care of us. Anyway I said "I need to speak with the owner, I have to tell him a story about this door dash order." He said "he will be here tomorrow after 10am" and rudely hung up the phone on me! So just 20 min ago I was sitting on my couch and i wasn't even gonna call back but I thought about it and I want to own a restaurant someday and felt that if this was my business I would hope my customers would tell me when something like this happened so I called back and guess who picked up the phone? Matthew again! So i simply told him the exact same statement from last night and once again asked yo speak with the owner. He got mad and aggressive told me the owner was not in and said he can take a message. I said “Are you serious?” He then once again rudely hung up the phone on me. I was totally shocked and now it’s my mission to make sure that the owner knows what Matthew is doing to his business. I called back one more time and said “I’m gonna drive down there and talk to the owner myself!” His response was “Pack a Lunch Buddy” and one more time hung up the phone on me. That was about 20-30 minutes ago. I was only trying to help a small business owner out and now unfortunately because of Matthew we will never be returning to Twisted Pie...

I work in the area and a coworker brought some pizza in one day from twisted pies. I liked it so much that I went back to order some pizza for my family on 3 additional occasions. I must say the pizza is pretty good. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the reason why I probably wont return again. On all 3 occasions they under quoted me on the time any where from 15 minutes to a half hour. Every time I come in I see a buch a people hanging out waiting for their pizzas complaing about this issue. Now mind you each time I came it was a Friday or Saturday night so I would doubt this is an issue during non peak times. This last time I was quoted 40 minutes. I got there about 45 minutes later and the attendant told me that it would be another 15 minutes which turned out to be more like 20. In other words it took over an hour to get my pizza. I understand being busy and/or understaffed but from a customer point a view thats just irritating. I would never dine in here. It would probably take a couple hours to get my food and eat. The other thing that was annoying is all the staff acted somewhat appologetic like they were sorry but coulden't do anything about it. Like it was a normal thing. After 3 seperate visits I believe it is a normal thing for them. Sorry to say I don't think I will be back. Pizza is good but...

Twisted Pies got me to change my mind about pizza. I could take pizza, or leave, never missed it. I had one of their Supremes about a week ago, and just ordered another one. I’m going to have a nap now.

Another week, another large pie. This is 3rd order and very pleased with their pizza. Delivery is pretty solid, around 30 minutes, can be longer, definitely worth the wait.

4 Dec 2021 Edit: I’m like an addict here. I’ve never had any excessive wait times when having my pie delivered. My pies were always hot and seriously delicious. May seem expensive compared to a fast food chain competitor, but Twisted Pies is really a homemade pizza with fresh everything and the price has never been a disappointment, especially after that first bite. I do recommend Twisted Pies to family and friends.
