Tao Yuan Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Mesa

Alright today I figured I give this restaurant a try, and to my surprise! The food was absolutely horrible!! I order something simple to go for lunch (Pork Lo Mein) and it comes with fried rice, egg roll and a crab rangoon. For the amount $12.44 the portion was absolutely small! Why? do I say it's horrible! Because the Pork Lo Mein was absolutely "SALTY" as hell, and the worst part the fried rice was dried having no flavor. Like it was kept in the fridge and taking out to microwave and serve it to me! Now for the egg roll it was like eating boil cabbage no flavor again! But having it roll into an egg roll form that's been deep fried and calling egg roll. I have been to many Chinese restaurant, and I definitely know my Chinese food well! But this restaurant is "EXPENSIVE" "FOOD IS HORRIBLE" I have taken picture showing you, my order! please take consideration before going to this restaurant. I love this place because it reminds me of home. They were short staffed today, so I was unable to call my order in. They put peas and carrots in my fried rice.🙁 I'll give them a pass today because they were extra friendly and gave me extra egg rolls for free.😋🤗💕

My daughter ordered today 8/12/2022. Before the change of mgmt, our orders and the food was perfect. I'm uncertain if they have a different cook but the fried rice isn't brown like before. We always order it with no veggies and with bean sprouts and extra onions and egg. We didn't get what we ordered. I distinctly heard my daughter order it over the phone. I called and whomever answered said he was pretty sure that's not what she ordered. I'd like to speak with the mgr whom he said his name was...

To be brutally honest we only do the occasional take away here because its almost walking distance from home, and, being a creature of habit it seems, I always order the Mongolian Beef which has yet to disappoint me

That being said, my general impression is thus; Food - Pretty good, likely loaded with MSG - but for the occasional treat, we enjoy it. Service - Excellent. An attractive, middle aged Chinese lady acts as if she's the one in charge. Usually she appears to be juggling a number of plates in the air while simultaneously greeting new arrivals and saying goodbye to departing ones. Interior - Not really the sort of place you'd want to impress anyone, a bit jaded looking . Needs to add a little pizzaz perhaps - or...
