PJ's Coffee — Restaurant in Metairie

This was my second attempt at ordering the beignets that are advertised on the menu. I went a couple weeks ago at the drive-thru and was told that the fryer was being cleaned therefore there were no beignets available. It was rather late, approx 6:30ish so okay, I'll try some other time. Today, (10/14/24) I returned this time at 1:28pm and place my order at the counter inside. The young lady took my order. I paid cash and stepped aside to wait for my hot beignets. After about waiting three minutes a woman comes out from the back and informs me that the fryer had just been switched off for cleaning because it is Monday and that's the day they clean the beignet fryer. Really!!! The fryer is shut off that early for cleaning when the place doesn't close until 8:00pm. That makes no sense. The woman asked if I wanted to talk to the manager. No I replied, and I'd like a refund including the cash tip that I put in your tip jar. Why speak to someone that would allow the fryer to be shut off six and a half hours before closing! Take your business...

They use cold brew for their iced lattes! Pretty deceptive if you ask me! Please stop doing this — it is extremely disingenuous and can be potentially very dangerous as the amount of caffeine in cold brew (or espresso concentrate) is much higher. You should not be advertising these as “espresso” drinks— you have espresso machines so it’s surprising that this is being done in the first place. Also, it just doesn’t taste good!...

Slow. Absolutely ridiculous how slow they are. After waiting in line ten minutes when you pull up to the window is when they decide to warm your danish. Multitasking and common sense is a foreign concept to this location. Also NEVER give napkins. I guess I’ll wipe my mouth with my shirt sleeve. The workers here need to be trained by the Veterans or Napoleon...
