Wanted to catch dinner before a movie, but that didn't go so well.
First-off, Abby, our server, was great about the whole situation and hopefully, sincerely appreciated a laugh about the situation.
We ordered drinks, carne asada, and loaded nachos. It all began with the complimentary chips & salsa... The chips were surprisingly oily and had an unexpected thinness to them that I hadn't recalled and didn't like, personally. The salsa is what started my rant though... It's awful. It's straight from a can or something. There was no chunkiness of discernable ingredients to it. It's a lot of tomato something and spices. Just marinate the chip and take a bite!
My wife ordered Carne Asada and I got the loaded nachos. Her plate was by far, the most bland plate of food we've paid for... EVER. I cannot stress this enough.
The meat was poorly seasoned and bland. The beans, which are a straight-forward ingredient, were also poorly seasoned and bland. For some reason, the beans weren't sure if they were supposed to be whole beans or refried because the consistency came back as a mix of both while some beans were firm compared to others. The rice was understandably bland because if the flavor was where it was supposed to be, it'd balance out the dish, but otherwise, it was great in texture.
As for my loaded nachos (no jalapeno), they rested on a bed of those beans I mentioned. So, while I didn't like the chips much, the flavors were very solid... Until I got a bite of MY beans which had the same issues above, but with a strong kick of spice added to it. Like if someone dusted chili powder on it?
The margaritas were solid though!
In the end, I paid for the meal, and didn't even box anything for home. I strongly dislike wasting food, but this just was not salvageable. Officially black-listed for me as it seems like the franchise is pushing down poor ingredients/recipes.
If you want solid Mexican food, check out Casa Blanca in Haverhill, which...
Read moreWow. What a first horrible experience. A group of us decided to eat here after a movie. We come in wanting to sit at the bar and watch the game. 85% of the area was not picked up or clean. When we asked the bartender (some dude with glasses) he said "oh. Well. Thats not clean. So you'll have to wait 15-20 minutes". To be clear, there where probably about 10 people at the bar that can hold prob 100. So not busy by any means. We waited 10 mins. No one even picked a glass from the tables we were hoping to have. So we decided to just sit at the bar. Only to find tomato sauce and rice all over the bar as well. A different bartender comes to help us. She seems a lot better. Wipes the bar area in front of us and takes our order. Drink orders come out ok. Now we want to order our food. She disappears. I walk to the back and find ALL THE STAFF chatting and sipping on drinks by the service door. Is this normal!????? I asked someone to take our food order (nicely) in case they decide to get funky with our food.
Bartender comes out, grabs her purse and leaves. No wonder she didn't care about us. Her shift was over. A different server comes out. We place our order and wait. Food arrives at normal time. We eat, grab a few drinks and wait for the check.
Guess what. Yup. I again have to get up, this time a little more obvious in terms of my dissatisfaction and walk to the same spot. They are all chatting and drinking again. I asked to bring my check or we will leave. They promptly brought the check up. We paid. I left 5 dollar tip and a note on the ticket.
We have been to Margaritas restaurant in MA and NH very often. We love the location in Concord. This location was a huge disappointment. Will never return. Rather go to Not Your Average Joes which is actually true. Because this Margarita location and service is so bad, should just be called Under...
Read moreWe have been here a few times. The food typically takes a while. We decided to give it another try. Never again.
So we were seated at a booth next to the window. The booth next to ours had not been cleaned and the floor was covered in food. They didn't clean it for at least 20 minutes after we arrived. There were many ants on the window sill at our booth. After we killed at least 6 or 8 with a napkin, we moved to a table.
Our food came. The wait was a little long but not too bad. Problem is they brought out the wrong meal for my husband. We told the person who brought our food, which was not our server. He said he would take care of it and get the correct order of fajitas. Someone came a few minutes later and noticed he was missing food and he said he would take care of it and get the fajitas ordered. After a while, the waitress came buy with a plate of food. The same dish, zarapes, as they tried to serve him the first time. She apologized and said she would have them prepare the fajitas, he had ordered. So now three people are supposedly getting the fajitas ordered. Finally after the rest of the family finished their meal, his meal came. In addition my son had asked for a second milk and it never came
All the food was fine nothing great, but not bad either, except for the rice. The bill came and we were charged for the milk that didn't come. The waitress did fix the bill.
I noticed as I waited for the corrected bill, the napkin we used to kill the ants was still sitting on the window sill next to the booth we were in originally, even though they had reset it for the next...
