Subway — Restaurant in Metropolis

The employees were great at this location. One was new and learning but he was giving it his best. The experienced associate was giving advice on how to be faster and efficient. Both did a great job. The sandwich was excellent and fresh. Why the 3 stars? PRICE. Subway unfortunately, as a whole, is not a good value when compared to other restaurants. 2 people can go to a sit down full service establishment and pay the same as 2 12" combos. Kudos to the employees for easing the pain of ever increasing prices. The restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere, just get an affordable pricing structure.......please! UPDATE JULY 2023.... This Metropolis location has had a new owner for a few years now. We usually don't visit this location or the ones in Paducah because they won't accept Subways Corporate National Coupons. Coupons aren't out all the time. We would be regulars again if the decision makers weren't acting so cheap. We simply wait till we're in Vienna Illinois and get subway up there. We did make an exception the other day. We ordered Italian Bmt's, the associate did an excellent job making the subs and they tasted great. The store looked nice and clean. So, business falling off? Don't blame...

I normally find this Subway location to be satisfacory. BUT, the last time (and it will be the last time ever) that I went there, I had a coupon for 3 footlongs, for $17.99. I order the footlongs, got to the register, and was told that my coupon was the ONLY coupon not accepted there. I don't like wasting food, so I paid for the sandwiches anway, but I was not intending to spend nearly $50 there that day - hence the coupon. I am beyond disappointed with this location. I used that same coupon at another location a few days later without issue. I actually called several other locations to ask them if they accepted that coupon, and all of them did, and some of the workers even acted surprised that I was even asking. I will not be spending any more money at the Metropolis, IL Subway location, and I will be telling all of my family and friends, and probably some acquaintances, about this fumble on their part....

Service was so much better than previous times I had visited there, the new staff was friendly I almost didn't go in because the way employees treated customers in the past, very cranky, not friendly at all, but my mother wanted to dine in so I obliged, begrudging, but to my surprise there were new employees, very friendly, greated us as we walked in, very nice, not aggregated to take our order, just all around pleasant experience, I was glad I went in one last time, I had previously stopped going there to avoid being treated rudely for just placing an order, Way to go metropolis subway ,customer service was great, glad to find out they hired ppl that enjoy interacting with others, & are not bothered to have to take an order which is there job (they got paid to do) so again I say kuddos Metropolis subway, I will continue to be a...
