If there was a way to leave a quarter star I legitimately would. In all fairness , it was busy when my family and I chose to bring our business. However, it was a thoroughly un-enjoyable experience through and through. The food was poor quality. And the service? Horrendous. Literally had to tell the gentleman our drinks four separate times. I had two toddlers (one with autism) and was literally stared at and asked if she was going to continue crying. I had several other customers address that statement and state themselves that it was just flat out disrespectful. Several remarks were made by the gentleman serving folks their drinks about how frustrated he was at the place being busy. I'm guessing he was the owner and should probably hire better help then what he has to offer because it's far from up to par. The bathroom also had a giant puddle of urine and was disgusting as well.
Update: APPARENTLY the owner finds it to be a hobby to redirect criticism about his hostile demeanor he put out and poor service and push it off on customers in response to poor reviews as well. Firstly, If your going to make a statement about RESPECT you should work on your own. It's hippocritical. Secondly, I had a hungry 2 year old who was ready to eat, so yes she was upset. If you've been around children with autism that were well behaved but before you make an uneducated statement on it understand it's not a single condition. There are several forms and just because one does not possess the one you've encountered makes them no less of a person then the one that you did. I did not possess an arrogant demeanor with our encounter whatsoever and to say that after you yourself were flatout ugly and ill tempered is amusing to me. I have several relatives that work in the food business and they'd all agree that you were rude and poor mannered. I have a very high respect for the things that people in your line of work tolerate and deal with by the day so before you rant on about how "you don't have to deal with this" be thankful that I didn't give the response you deserved. You sure didn't have any typing to do about the urine that stood 2 inches higher than the tile In your restrooms. On the contrary, I'm sure your food is good when it hasn't been sitting there getting cold because you can't manage your establishment and refuse to hire help or buy the necessary items to insure it doesn't. Read that you said ' IT'S PHYSICS' on another customers review, you know, cause clearly you thoroughly enjoy arguing through criticism instead of taking the necessary steps to prevent another. Read moreI ordered some food from their online menu. I picked it up and noticed they forgot something. So I told them and they charged me. Went home and looked at my receipt and they did charge me. Whom ever answered the phone argued with me that they did not charged me. I read off every charge. Then he finally admitted that they did charge me. He said next time I come back they would give me the item for free. That’s been two years ago. I’ve been so mad at the way he treated me I haven’t been back. Today I was wanting some Chinese food and did not feel like driving 45 minutes to the next Chinese place. So I decided to look at the reviews to see if they’ve changed or switched managers. The nastiness of the owners or whoever does the response to the reviews is still nasty. reminds me of how he spoke to me and I see things have not changed and the food really was not that good to begin with just mediocre. You should not be so nasty to the people who are paying your bills by buying your food. Still want Chinese food? I think I will drive to Anna to the Kings wok, their food is awesome. It is worth the drive and they are very friendly. The way you treat your customers is atrocious.per your response : I only leave reviews if something exceptional happens. Read morePre Covid this place was fairly decent for Metropolis however my husband and I went in there for dinner on 4/16/23 and was charged $32 for 2 Buffet and 2 drinks. So we went up to the buffet and everything on it looked as if it was there from lunch and everything tasted like it had been there all day and everything was cold except for the 1 fried shrimp dish so that’s what I ate but was hardly $12 worth of food. So the guy comes around with our bill so I asked if they were putting out more of that shrimp and he says I don’t know and was rude about it. So I let it go and sat and watched my husband eat while I waited for the ONLY food that was edible to come back out which didn’t happen till we were leaving. So Mr Rude says they are putting more out and I was like we’re done it’s a little late and the food was cold and we won’t be back. Didn’t bother to apologize much less take something off the bill for serving cold and old dried out food. I should have told him to just charged me for my drink and that I wasn’t paying $12 for nasty food. I didn’t but I won’t ever go back there. If you are local to the Metropolis area I highly suggest making the 40 min trip to Cape Girardeau to the yummy buffet across from the mall everything is fresh and delicious have never had a bad experience there and well worth the drive same price much better food.
