Prices are high on a lot of things . But it's a good store if you don't want to do a lot of driving around. The employees are most of the time very nice and helpful. I did have an Episode where the Employ in the Bakery /Deli wasn't very nice or helpful. I had gone there to order cupcakes for my grandson's birthday party at school. Because the schools don't let you make them any more. They must be store bought. So I had gone there to order some. Well the 2 workers that was back there. Was cleaning up already. And the one said I had to come back in the morning to order them. Well I was surprised because the deli/ bakery wasn't close yet. Well I said thats fine if you don't want to take my order. And can go to Walmart and order some from there. Well as long was walking away other Lady came up and asked what was going on so I had explained to her What was going on. She said I'm sorry let me take your order. I spoke politely to and I said no thank you they've already made it where I do not wish to order on from here I will take my business for this elsewhere. That was pretty much the worst time I had their. Now There is a manager there is a young gentleman that has a young family I worked with him and IGA many years ago. Well he is now a manager there like I had said. If you ever need help finding something he is very helpful and as well as many others...
Read moreBig John's is well stocked. They carry things that only large box stores carry in some areas of the country. Sometimes the prices on certain items is rather high. BUT....they run excellent sales. I would offer only 1 piece of advice and it probably just boils down to a training issue. It's an "old school" rule, I know, but it should be followed today just for respect. Associates should never have conversations of an unrelated work topic while waiting on a customer. Such as,. A cashier talking to another cashier about something that went on with someone else...etc.etc. the customer feels ignored and in the way. When you walk in Big John's you can immediately tell that people have worked hard to keep the store neat, clean, and organized. It's a shame to have a negative experience at the last point of customer contact eradicate all the hard work that has already taken place. Will I shop there again? Absolutely! Update as of 5-11-22, With so many stores running out of things, they are still amazingly well stocked. Some things may be priced a bit higher, as you may expect in smaller food chains, but they run really good specials. Also, you always see someone working in the produce section, and it shows! It always looks...
Read moreYesterday, I went in to pick up the cupcakes I ordered for for my son's 12th birthday party at school. I forgot to order them in advance, so when I did remember, the day of his birthday, the ladies in the bakery said "No problem! We will have them ready in time for his school party!" I was thrilled! When I arrived to pick up the cupcakes, I noticed a turnstile with different balloons hanging around it. Upon looking at the balloons that were available, I decided on a Phineas and Ferb balloon, which happens to be his favorite TV show right now. I approached the 2 young women who were checking people out, and inquired as to whom I needed to speak with in order to have a few balloons inflated. The young, blonde said "me, I'll take care of you right here."
So not only did I get 30 cupcakes, made to order, the same day I ordered them, but I also was able to purchase a balloon bouquet and still make it to the school for his birthday party! That, is exceptional customer service! Thank you to those employees that helped make my son's 12th birthday a...
